Here we recreated the primary bath by borrowing space from an adjacent laundry room and hall bath. The new design delivers a spacious bathroom suite with the bonus of improved laundry storage.

We took a dated bathroom that you had to walk through the shower to get to the outdoors, covered in cream polished marble and gave it a completely new look. The function of this bathroom is outstanding from the large shower with dual heads to the extensive vanity with a sitting area for the misses to put on her makeup. We even hid a hamper in the pullout linen tower. Easy maintenance with porcelian tiles in the shower and a beautiful tile accent featured at the tub.

The master bathroom, which was once a living room in the quadplex, got outfitted with a 10' double vanity, double head and rain head shower with glass enclosure and a large soaking tub. Oh, and yes an original fireplace is intact!

It's all in the details with this bathroom! Quartz waterfall cap on the pony wall of the shower mirrors the waterfall edge on the vanity. We also used quartz to cap the ledges of the niches, and the shower bench. Stack stone wainscoting surrounds the freestanding tub area. Custom his and hers vanity cabinets with a Cappuccino stain include hidden electrical, individualized storage areas, and coordinating framed mirrors over vanity. Same linear glass mosaic tile was used as an accent for the vanity backsplash, and decorative bands running through shower. Polished travertine-looking porcelain tile installed on shower walls. 2.5" wood-look hexagon tiles installed on shower floor. Rustic barn door was custom designed and stained for this project. Ran wood-look porcelain planks at a 45 degree angle on bathroom floor, and installed matching tile baseboads. LED can lights and bubble glass pendant lights illuminate the space. Bryon Berrier of Reico Kitchen and Bath in Timonium, MD collaborated with R Solomon Construction to design a transitional style inspired primary bathroom featuring Masterpiece cabinetry. The cabinets feature the Bolton door style in Maple in a Translucent Driftwood finish, complemented by Silestone Etheral Haze quartz vanity tops. Fixture selections for the bathroom are Kohler provided by GROF. After remodeling the client's kitchen, Bryon was contacted to update the primary bathroom. "The original design had two separate rooms: one for the vanity and drop-in tub, and another for the shower and toilet, separated by a wall. We removed a wall to create a more open space, making the shower area feel less enclosed and used a free-standing tub to reduce crowding," Bryon explained. "My favorite part is how well the materials coordinate and the use of Matte Black Hardware. Amazing transformation for the outdated bathroom that needed a huge face-lift. The old bathroom had many walls, a large outdated tub, and glass cube shower walls. It was removing walls and expanding slightly into the bedroom allowed for the expansive steam shower and show stopper free-standing tub by Victoria & Albert. The continued use of white natural stone tile and countertop (bianco dolomiti - all natural stone, la blanc quartzite countertop). The polished nickel plumbing fixtures brings the glam to this luxury master bathroom. The large curbless steam shower is another show stopper in this bathroom, floor to ceiling glass and a beautiful mosaic tile flooring and the faint horizontal lines of the wall tile bring much-needed relaxation to this shower. The final touch is the expansive double vanity from Signature Custom Cabinetry in beautiful alder wood in a light brown stain - driftwood. These items create the luxurious open bathroom that this client had always dreamed of.

浴室リフォームのデザイン、レイアウト、費用

浴室リフォームの技法には大きく分けて「在来工法」と「ユニットバス (システムバス)」の2通りがあります。

在来工法：「在来工法」とは、壁、床、窓枠、浴槽などを実際の現場で左官、大工、タイル職人等が作り上げていく技法で、浴室の大きさや形に合わせて自由にレイアウトをデザインできたり、趣のあるタイルで壁を演出することができたりといった点が利点と言えます。昔ながらのこの技法には、費用が高い、工期が長い、年数が経つと水漏れの心配がある、などの注意点があります。
ユニットバス（システムバス）：比較的新しいこの技法は、予め工場で生産されたパーツ (壁、バスタブ、シャワーユニットなど) を現場で組み立てていく技法で、防水性、断熱性に優れ、工期を短縮できるだけでなく、費用も大幅に抑えることができます。在来工法と比べると、デザインやレイアウトの自由度が低い点が欠点としてあげられます。

浴室にプラスアルファでお風呂タイムをもっと楽しく

介護が必要な方には、浴室に浴槽手すりやシャワーチェア、すべり止めマットなどの安全グッズを使って、癒やしの時間を安全にゆっくりと楽しんでもらいましょう。浴室に床暖房を取り入れると、冬場のあのヒンヤリ感がなくなり、ヒートショックの防止に効果が期待できます。大粒のお湯が頭上から降り注ぐように全身を包み込むレインシャワー水栓は、効率的に身体を温めてくれます。また最近では、浴室テレビを装備して、あたたかいお湯に浸かりながらテレビ番組や映画を楽しむ方も増えています。ライフスタイルにあわせて、浴室をカスタマイズしてみてはいかがでしょうか？

ラクラク片付け、快適な浴室！

シャンプーやコンディショナーのボトルや、浴槽洗いのブラシは、ワイヤーラック、つっぱりコーナーラック、吸盤シェルフなど壁面収納グッズを活用して、浴室の使いやすい場所に設置しましょう。ボディスポンジなど、肌に触れるものはお掃除グッズから離れた場所に置き、しっかり水切りができるよう吸盤フックなどにかけるといいでしょう。また、浴室内には必要なアイテムだけをセレクトして置き、余分なモノは浴室外の脱衣所の棚に保管するなどの工夫も、お風呂場を清潔に保つコツです。風呂ふたも、フックやスタンド等を使って収納し、しっかり乾燥させれば、カビやぬめりの発生を防ぐことができます。

ホテルのようなバスルームをつくるコツ

ホテルライクなバスルームに誰しもが憧れたことがあるでしょう。すっきりとした収納、余計なものやプライベート感がない、トイレとバスが一緒の三点ユニットでも清潔感があるのがホテルのバスルームの特徴です。このようなシンプルな印象のバスルームにするコツは、収納をできるかぎり1カ所にまとめるということです。タオルや着替え、トイレットペーパーや洗剤など溢れがち (しかもバスルームに置きがち) な日用品のストックは、必要分だけをコンパクトに整理して、同素材や同系色の収納ボックスやラックにまとめることで、全体を統一感ある印象に見せます。ところで、このようなホテルライクなバスルームはアメリカのバスルームが元になっていますが、アメリカの Houzz サイトの特集記事 (Story) には、“Bathroom 1 1/2” や “Bathroom 3/4” などと表記されているものがあります。これは、バスルームを「バスタブ」、「シャワー」、「トイレ」、「洗面台」の4つ分けて、それぞれ 1/4 と考え、4つすべてある場合は ”Bathroom 1”、それに加えてトイレと洗面台がもう1カ所ずつある場合は “Bathroom 1 1/2”、シャワー、トイレ、洗面台だけでバスタブがない場合は “Bathroom 3/4” のように表現されます。
