This original bathroom was very small, so we knocked out the wall between the bathroom and the closet and took over the entire space for the bathroom. We wanted it to feel light, bright and a place that they could unwind and relax in. We had wainscot put in to match the grand stairway and radiant heat flooring keeps the space nice and warm at night if someone needs to go to the bathroom. The tile gives it a beautiful look and the overall feeling is relaxing.

Because the entire bathroom used to be a laundry cupboard, the client was really keen that when converting it into an ensuite, we were able to retain some really useful and beautiful laundry storage. By creating both the laundry cupboard and the shower area completely custom on site, we were able to maximise both areas. And it turned out beautifully.

In addition to the use of light quartz and marble, we strategically used mirrors to give the small master bath the illusion of being spacious and airy. Adding paneling to the walls and mirrors gives the room a seamless, finished look, which is highlighted by lights integrated into the mirrors. The home’s existing master bathroom was very compartmentalized (the pretty window that you can now see over the tub was formerly tucked away in the closet!), and had a lot of oddly angled walls. We created a completely new layout, squaring off the walls in the bathroom and the wall it shared with the master bedroom, adding a double-door entry to the bathroom from the bedroom and eliminating the (somewhat strange) built-in desk in the bedroom. Moving the locations of the closet and the commode closet to the front of the bathroom made room for a massive shower and allows the light from the window that had been in the former closet to brighten the space. It also made room for the bathroom’s new focal point: the fabulous freestanding soaking tub framed by deep niche shelving. The new double-door entry shower features a linear drain, bench seating, three showerheads (two handheld and one overhead), and floor-to-ceiling tile. A floating double vanity with bookend storage towers in contrasting wood anchors the opposite wall and offers abundant storage (including two built-in hampers in the towers). Champagne bronze fixtures and honey bronze hardware complete the look of this luxurious retreat.

This 90's beauty had an odd layout with a built-in tub deck. It had a closed off layout and was dated with striped wallpaper, tiled countertops and gold fixtures. We removed the tub deck and installed a beautiful, aerated tub, providing a focal point when you walk in. We replaced vinyl flooring with neutral large format floor tile with a tile base. The new shower is larger than was the existing shower, set in a vertical brick set pattern with a beautiful mosaic band running through the niche. The homeowners previously purchased the vanity which is a great finish to this master bathroom.
