Marble Bathroom in Worthing, West Sussex A family bathroom and en-suite provide a luxurious relaxing space for local High Salvington, Worthing clients. The Brief This bathroom project in High Salvington, Worthing required a luxurious bathroom theme that could be utilised across a larger family bathroom and a smaller en-suite. The client for this project sought a really on trend design, with multiple personal elements to be incorporated. In addition, lighting improvements were sought to maintain a light theme across both rooms. Design Elements Across the two bathrooms designer Aron was tasked with keeping both space light, but also including luxurious elements. In both spaces white marble tiles have been utilised to help balance natural light, whilst adding a premium feel. In the family bathroom a feature wall with herringbone laid tiles adds another premium element to the space. To include the required storage in the family bathroom, a wall hung unit from British supplier Saneux has been incorporated. This has been chosen in the natural English Oak finish and uses a handleless system for operation of drawers. A podium sink sits on top of the furniture unit with a complimenting white also used. Special Inclusions This client sought a number of special inclusions to tailor the design to their own style. Matt black brassware from supplier Saneux has been used throughout, which teams nicely with the marble tiles and the designer shower screen chosen by this client. Around the bath niche alcoves have been incorporated to provide a place to store essentials and decorations, these have been enhanced with discrete downlighting. Throughout the room lighting enhancements have been made, with wall mounted lights either side of the HiB Xenon mirrored unit, downlights in the ceiling and lighting in niche alcoves. Our expert fitting team have even undertaken the intricate task of tilling this l-shaped bath panel. Project Highlight In addition to the family bathroom, this project involved renovating an existing en-suite. White marble tiles have again been used, working well with the Pewter Grey bathroom unit from British supplier Saneux’s Air range. A Crosswater shower enclosure is used in this room, with niche alcoves again incorporated. A key part of the design in this room was to create a theme with enough natural light and balanced features. The End Result These two bathrooms use a similar theme, providing two wonderful and relaxing spaces to this High Salvington property. L’objectif principal de ce projet a été de réorganiser entièrement les espaces en insufflant une atmosphère épurée empreinte de poésie, tout en respectant les volumes et l’histoire de la construction, ici celle de Charles Dalmas, le majestueux Grand Palais de Nice. Suite à la dépose de l’ensemble des murs et à la restructuration de la marche en avant, la lumière naturelle a pu s’inviter dans l’ensemble de l’appartement, créant une entrée naturellement lumineuse. Dans le double séjour, la hauteur sous plafond a été conservée, le charme de l’haussmannien s’est invité grâce aux détails architecturaux atypiques comme les corniches, la niche, la moulure qui vient englober les miroirs. La cuisine, située initialement au fond de l’appartement, est désormais au cœur de celui-ci et devient un véritable lieu de rencontre. Une niche traversante délimite le double séjour de l’entrée et permet de créer deux passages distincts. Cet espace, composé d’une subtile association de lignes orthogonales, trouve son équilibre dans un mélange de rose poudré, de laiton doré et de quartz blanc pur. La table ronde en verre aux pieds laiton doré devient un élément sculptural autour duquel la cuisine s’organise. L’ensemble des placards est de couleur blanc pur, pour fusionner avec les murs de l’appartement. Les salles de bain sont dans l’ensemble carrelées de zellige rectangulaire blanc, avec une robinetterie fabriqué main en France, des luminaires et des accessoires en finition laiton doré réchauffant ces espaces. La suite parentale qui remplace l’ancien séjour, est adoucie par un blanc chaud ainsi qu’un parquet en chêne massif posé droit. Le changement de zone est marqué par une baguette en laiton et un sol différent, ici une mosaïque bâton rompu en marbre distinguant l’arrivée dans la salle de bain. Cette dernière a été pensée comme un cocon, refuge de douceur.

A family of four shares this one full bath on the top floor of an historic Mt. Baker home, and before the renovation, a big clawfoot tub that no one in the family enjoyed showering in took up most of an already tight space. Add in the fact that the homeowners' taste leans modern while their home is solidly tradtitional and our challenge was clear: design a bathroom that allowed a crowd to get ready in the morning and balanced our clients' personal style with what made sense in the context of this older home. The finished bathroom includes a trough sink so two people can be brushing teeth at the same time, a floating vanity with tons of storage, and a shower carved out of space borrowed from an adjacent hallway closet.

This hall bathroom, shared by two teenage boys, was given an update in grey and white, with a preppy, marble floor in a chevron pattern. The shower stall was tiled with a marble penny round floor and elongated subway tile walls. Mirrors wrapped around the vanity nooks, enlarging the space. Faucet was wall mounted onto a quartz backsplash.

This lifestyle can be compact, light-filled, clever, practical, simple, sustainable, and a dream to live in. You don't have to own a big celebrity mansion to have a beautifully appointed house finished with unique and special materials. When my clients bought an average condo kitted out with all the average builder-grade things that average builders stuff into spaces like that, they longed to make it theirs. Being collectors of colorful Fiesta tableware and lovers of extravagant stone, we set about infusing the space with a dose of their fun personality. There wasn’t a corner of the house that went untouched in this extensive renovation. The ground floor got a complete make-over with a new Calacatta Gold tile floor, and I designed a very special border of Lunada Bay glass mosaic tiles that outlines the edge of every room. We ripped out a solid walled staircase and replaced it with a visually lighter cable rail system, and a custom hanging chandelier now shines over the living room. The kitchen was redesigned to take advantage of a wall that was previously just shallow pantry storage. By opening it up and installing cabinetry, we doubled the counter space and made the kitchen much more spacious and usable. We also removed a low hanging set of upper cabinets that cut off the kitchen from the rest of the ground floor spaces. Acquarella Fantasy quartzite graces the counter surfaces and continues down in a waterfall feature in order to enjoy as much of this stone’s natural beauty as possible. One of my favorite spaces turned out to be the primary bathroom. The scheme for this room took shape when we were at a slab warehouse shopping for material. We stumbled across a packet of a stunning quartzite called Fusion Wow Dark and immediately fell in love. We snatched up a pair of slabs for the counter as well as the back wall of the shower. My clients were eager to be rid of a tub-shower alcove and create a spacious curbless shower, which meant a full piece of stone on the entire long wall would be stunning. To compliment it, I found a neutral, sandstone-like tile for the return walls of the shower and brought it around the remaining walls of the space, capped with a coordinating chair rail. But my client's love of gold and all things sparkly led us to a wonderful mosaic. Composed of shifting hues of honey and gold, I envisioned the mosaic on the vanity wall and as a backing for the niche in the shower. We chose a dark slate tile to ground the room, and designed a luxurious, glass French door shower enclosure. Little touches like a motion-detected toe kick night light at the vanity, oversized LED mirrors, and ultra-modern plumbing fixtures elevate this previously simple bathroom. And I designed a watery-themed guest bathroom with a deep blue vanity, a large LED mirror, toe kick lights, and customized handmade porcelain tiles illustrating marshland scenes and herons.
