I wonder how many owners that went with glass railings would swap them out in a heartbeat for the modern black cable railings? Keeping the glass clean, especially with kids in the house, would take Herculean effort.
These kinds of stairs and railings are definitely best suited for families without babies/small kids. They do look stunning and unique, however, keeping the glass clean is extra work unless you don't mind them being smeared.
