都心のど真ん中に広いご自宅の敷地があり、その片隅にゲストルームとしても活用できる茶室。敷地高低差もあったので床下に半地下のような茶道具倉庫。

A spacious home in the heart of Tokyo features a tea room in one corner that can also be used as a guest room. Due to the unevenness of the property, a semi-basement tea utensil storage area is located beneath the floor.

Since many foreign guests are staying, the entrance hall features a waiting area-style seating area that can also be used as a dirt floor. A spacious water room with a 3-tatami mat area is attached to the tea room, separated by sliding doors. By removing the sliding doors, the room can be transformed into a large hall, and storage space for fixtures is located in the water room, creating a natural look.

外国人のゲストも多いので土間席にもなる腰掛け待合風の玄関。3畳台目茶室に広めの水屋を付けて、襖で仕切ることにより、襖を取り外すと広間にもなるように建具の収納を水屋側に儲けて違和感ないようにしました。
