This house on a Chicago boulevard is unique. The exterior was restored. The existing interior was gutted as there were no elements of historical nature to preserve. The surprising new interior includes ceilings that are sculptured to emphasize the activities below them, a staircase that flows seemingly like water, open sequences defined by furniture and quality craftsmanship of details. The ascending dramatic staircase spills down into the living area and links the bedrooms upstairs via a library. The house received a design excellence award for a residence under 3,000 sq. ft.
