The design for this house begins with a dream of the Mediterranean sea. It has two components: First the existing house facing the street is completely remodeled with imaging of water and second a new addition doubling its size takes the metaphor of the sea further. An airy two story prow shaped atrium opens to large windows with light from the north. The second level includes light filled lofty bedrooms and master suite. The entire design retains a Mediterranean water and boat appeal, seemingly floating from the prow of the addition to the entry on the street.
