Just make sure it is automatically or something clumping and unscented so it doesn't bother the cat and older control is good

Yes unscented and clumping are a must. I totally switched out the litter in the cat boxes today. The cat box downstairs is a cat box inside a cat box and for some reason cat urine head leaked down in between the two boxes. I really don’t see how that’s possible unless the box a week or someone is squirting over the edge.🤦‍♀️ I removed the outer box and we shall see what happens. I’m not enthralled. I remember only too well the problem I had with an other certain little cat

Yes, keep an eye on it but if it continues, make sure she has enough room to move around well enough. If I recall, it is in a confined area.

I remember mimeograph machines. A unique kind of alcohol smell and a handle that got turned. Clackety, clackety, clackety. And I remember all the kids smelling the paper as it was handed out. Hadn't thought of this in forever. Thanks for the memory!

There are some things that are predating the computer era that really make it feel like one has lived into completely different worlds. Typewriters are one of those things… I wrote all my university papers on a typewriter.

Why did we spend a ton of money, wait forever for the door to be installed,, only to obliterate the reason we bought it?

"it’s amazing how much natural light...................."

" I am doing one way dark silver film for privacy during the day but at night I want the option for full privacy….

Static cling or other? These work but......they depend which and what on exposures, how MUCH light is outside? There is an overhang above the door outside? Which way does the door fce? North , south etc

Mmmmmmm?

Since your primary goal is daytime privacy, a dark silver film with a 10% to 15% Visible Light Transmission (VLT) is the most reliable option. It creates the strongest mirror effect on the outside, ensuring neighbors cannot see in even on bright or slightly overcast days.To make sure this film is the right fit for your specific room, consider how the amount of natural sunlight you currently get will interact with it:Scenario A: Your room gets intense, direct sunlightIf the window faces East, West, or South, this film is an excellent choice.

  • The Benefit: It solves two problems at once. It gives you complete daytime privacy and drastically cuts down on blinding glare and solar heat, making the room much cooler and more comfortable.
  • The Light Loss: Because the incoming sun is so intense, losing 80% to 90% of the light will actually feel like a relief rather than making the room feel gloomy.

Scenario B: Your room is already shaded or faces NorthIf the window faces North or is heavily blocked by trees, awnings, or nearby buildings, a dark silver film might be too aggressive.

  • The Risk: Because the room lacks intense direct sun, a 10% VLT film will absorb almost all the ambient daylight. This can make the interior feel heavily tinted, dim, and gloomy, forcing you to turn on overhead lights during the day.
  • The Alternative: If you need privacy on a shaded window without losing all your light, a Medium Silver film (approx. 20% to 35% VLT) or a dual-reflective film is a better balance. They still create a daytime mirror finish but allow two to three times more natural light to enter.

As to a shade? You have to get something in a cellular with no more than 3/8 pleat. That is what drives the headrail size.

You will have issues mounting, dropping down and the door handle wll be a problem.

Go to Home Depot for a cut on site cordless and take the EXACT outside width, length dimensions with you. ..............

PS

Return the rug!

Buy two chairs!

DO NOT get a rug until the chairs are in the room. Scroll the nearly 1200 comments, all the floor plans, the need for a library, a cozy spot, a table and four chairs, now two chairs intead of that and ?

You have get clear on the final intent for the room. for an imperfect room! It is ONE room or it is two?!

When you get the chairs and ottoman in there? Tape off the rug "perfection" size to the inch. and take those dimensions to a broadloom store. Pick something, and have a custom rug created. You don't do that at Home Depot, you go to a dedicated broadloom store.

Scroll the 1200 comments......................................................?and the very winding, arduous route. To HERE.

It is ONE room or two?

Happy, I think more than one in the American Standard "Champion" line is one I mentioned before. Cleans better and is clog free. Check out their items at Home Depot.

American Standard VorMax.

It does both—it’s clog-free and self-cleaning, but it doesn't use any of those annoying cleaning cartridges or batteries! It uses a unique "Jetted Scrub" design that shoots a powerful high-pressure wave of water around the bowl to scrub it clean with every flush. It also has a special slick glaze so nothing sticks, and a rim design that completely eliminates spots where grime can hide.

The entire American Standard Champion toilet lineup—including the Champion 4, Champion PRO, and standard Champion series—is famous for its ability to flush a bucket of golf balls in a single flush. This unmatched clearing power is driven by the industry's largest 4-inch piston-action accelerator flush valve and an extra-wide 2-3/8 inch fully glazed trapway. [1, 2, 3, 4]

Regarding self-cleaning, while no toilet in the Champion lineup is completely hands-free "self-cleaning" (as they do not feature automated cleaning cycles or built-in chemical dispensing tanks), every model comes equipped with advanced continuous self-maintenance technologies

---------------------------------------------------------

I am done with the MI house toilet. My high-end toilets are more trouble than something basic. I'm also going to get a new Champion -- something simple and easy to work on, if needed.

Clog free toilet

I know one or more of the American Standard toilets can flush down a bucket of golf balls. While I am sure that is quite an accomplishment, I feel, if I have a guest over who needs to deposits that much in my toilet, best they just go directly to the emergency room and deal with their medical problem. AND, there should be no further visits until that happens!!! Just Saying. ROTFLOL.

tiffany, I am glad to hear that you found someone who can take care of the landscape there..it's not easy. Taking care of two homes is not easy. I am not a fan of all of these smart appliances..I am not looking forward to having no choice other than smart appliances. So far everything works, but I know that time will come
