When we bought our 1956 ranch-style home in San Leandro in 2019, it, like 90% of tthe homes along the street, was painted a light brown or beige color: it is hard to tell the homes apart. We chose a light yellow exterior color from Kelly-Moore (may it rest in peace) for our stucco simply to make our house easier for visitors to find on a street full of drab, look-alike tan, beige, and light brown houses. Sometimes you jiust have to be different! ;-)
So, so glad to see something classy instead of the ubiquitous little boxes gray

Thank you, STGHank13! Yes, Becky is great to work with and she understands and relates to the perspective of the landscape architect. A treat for me! "Lush" justaposed with California's drought and heat is certainly part of the challenge (and opportunity) for garden design in the region.
Can you tell me the dimensions of the shower?
Hi @Susan Smith! The shower surround is 4 feet wide on the shower head side, and about 4 feet, 4 inches on the adjacent side. The enclosed area is 2-3 inches less than that on each side; I would approximate it's 45 inches by 50 inches.
What a beautiful perch! I love the way the windows look straight out to the canopy.
I love the "quietness" of this guest bathroom and agree with Candice about the subtle twist on the patterned tile. Then I saw what was done in the master bathroom. Love, love, love. The tile is spectacular and like the choice of a wood cabinet. What a wonderful designer!
@Candice Costello and @Karen Harding I totally agree with you on the diagonal tile composition — it took me a minute to wrap my head around how that worked with the pattern!
Oh, I like that idea, Becky, of "pulling a few down and putting them on my coffee table every week"... because I generally work from my living room, so that is where I get most of my other reading done as well, so the extra visual reminder would be nice! And yes... the "feel of those pages in my hand..." I will read a fiction work occasionally on a screen, but nothing else... that tactile sense is part of the "absorbtion" of what I'm reading, I'm convinced. Thanks for the article on this wonderful kitchen redo!

I like the accent wall idea in #13. I’ve thought about using some of that camo netting that hunters use if only they made it in other colors.😂
