Sometimes it takes more than one pass to get it right, and sometimes it never does. I think you can upload multiple photos (of a room and of a sofa you're considering, for example) and tell it to put the sofa into the room, but I've only done one two-photo edit so far, so I don't know how it scales the sofa to the room.
As for finding a mid-sized recliner (in the 70-inch range), your idea of joining left- and right-arm recliner modules from a sectional seemed like a good one. Those modules are often around 36 inches each.
