Gorilla makes pads that you hammer on. They work better than just the stick felt ones.

A few members here have this product in their homes.

Maybe it could work for you?

You have a lovely home.

We have a similar situation, round table partly into a walkway but with ceramic tile with grout lines similar to yours. A rug just didn’t work. Felt pads under the chairs have worked well.

An 8' round rug might be a good size for a 54" round table but maybe not not in this location. It has to fit between the windows and the kitchen and take hallway traffic into consideration.

The table isn't centered under the light fixture, it's pushed toward the windows, maybe so your chairs won't block the walkway?

Here's an example of your table with an 8' rug - if you leave the table where it is, the fact it's off center becomes even more exaggerated. If you center it, the rug and chairs will spill in front of the hallway unless you have room to move the table closer to the living room.

An option until you decide - hard plastic chair glides screwed into the bottom of the chair legs.
