My outlawSIL who needs to buy a house but gave up showed me one today online, and it's actually really great, but she still can't get into the idea really. It needs TLC and work for sure but the price leaves room to do that. But, I get it. I mean, it does have this scary "doll room"... ROFL
The whole house is like this. LOL . Lots of old lady decor and bland carpet and weird wallpaper and old country oak cabinetry...
She has trouble seeing past the "stuff" in it, methinks.
Stay tuned. Maybe I can get her to go look at it w me and I can dazzle her with some ideas.
It's in a great neighborhood and on a great site, and has all the bones of a place she would like to have, including the walk out basement.
I will say, the decor, while not my taste or modern taste, is cohesive, and the seller clearly loves and has taken very good care of her home. It looks vintage late 70’s, but lived in by someone who craved something super traditional. I think the house has good bones, but only if you want to lean into a clean lined contemporary style. I will say, having renovated a vintage 1978 condo, all the systems needed a complete overhaul. Kinda like us! I started high school in 1978, and I wish I could get all new systems!

The kitchen would look a million times better just by taking down all the “decor” on top of the soffit, yes, that DR wallpaper is awful
