sueb, small boat cruising is *very* different from those moving cities on the oceans. We've done one of the big ones and it wasn't our thing. But the river boat cruising we really enjoy. So peaceful! You sit and watch the beautiful scenery go by. This was our boat. Kind of fun that at some cities, he'd just pull in and open up the nose to let us out!

There are no assigned seats at dinner, no separate seatings. No gambling. We had the suite for a cabin with a separate living room/eat-in kitchen area which was nice. It gave us a double-wide balcony too with chaise in addition to a small table and 2 chairs. We used the room a lot as it was so nice. Especially when DH was sleeping but I was still up. We'd come back from an excursion and there'd be some sweet treats waiting for us. And the fridge full of waters and juices and wine, all included. And the gal who was our historian/lecturer was terrific. She'd been up and down the Mississippi over 200 times and knew *everything* about the locks, the wild life, the geography, the towns we visited, etc. So it really added to the experience.

Egret art, no pedestals, console or plants. I like the simplicity and it doesn’t compete in a very full, cozy room.

add these photos and information to your original post and keep everything in one spot for people. Nobody is going to go back and forth.

I quickly skimmed through comments, and I saw mention of the ceiling. I don’t know if you had/have any interest in altering the ceiling. You may or may not know - removing a popcorn ceiling is an extremely messy and potentially hazardous job. There is no way that I would scrape a popcorn ceiling. If I didn’t want it, I would cover it with drywall. I am not particularly adverse to textured ceilings, though, so I would probably leave it.

You may live in a climate where a ceiling fan is really helpful and/or necessary. Or, you may just like having the fan. You could do a search for “fandeliers” - if you are interested in a fan that has more of a light fixture look.

You have a nice space.

I don’t think the architecture, plus tile floor, etc,, really lends itself to wall moldings.

Also, I do not know if the blue accent wall does much for the space; although, I do like the idea of a color on that wall.

In this one, I tried a yellow gold. AI insisted on extending the color to adjacent wall. I requested Farrow & Ball’s Cat’s Paw - and I think the color appears close to that.

I did not mean to replace your art, btw. I was trying to lower your art and AI removed it; so I put something else on the wall.

I think a yellow/gold on the accent wall could be nice, as I mentioned above. Could be striking.

For another look - here’s a warm white:

Finally got around to hanging. I really like it! Definitely needs frames, but I’m assuming that will cost so waiting a bit.

I do not think a mantel would look odd. Your biggest detriment on the fireplace is the existing tile. I would do a simple mantel in the same wood as your cabinets and replace the tile and take it up to the bottom of the mantel. If you don’t want a mantel then tile the entire wall.

Window films sound like a brilliant 💡 idea... for any areas that you would like to cover. And the major upside: the sky is the limit for the creative possibilities. Etsy.com has many options. I imagine the illustrious Amazon does, too.

Just one of the many listings on Etsy.

It looks wonderful. It's clean, inviting and simple. Anyone would be comfortable in there. Nicely done! We see so many projects on here that get started or talked about endlessly but never end in completion. You were very gracious in taking advice and suggestions and I think you have a warm, inviting space at the end of it all.

I'd mount the TV over the fireplace rather than blocking a window any day!

Maybe move the wine cabinet now under the TV to the corner between the sofa and loveseat? That frees the corner left of the fireplace for a chair, perhaps in a color taken from whatever art you choose. Center the loveseat on the fireplace. (If that puts the loveseat too far away from the sofa, try switching sofa and loveseat?) This shows a small round table (turquoise) beside the loveseat, but you could try the end table that the wine cabinet displaced there, if it's not too big. The recliner loveseat means you can't back it with a console table, but a throw draped over it can distract attention from the less-attractive back. You could paint the fireplace brick if you wish; I probably wouldn't. The darker color helps anchor the room, IMO.
