Those medicine cabinets are PERFECT! If you ever have them in your bathroom, you'll never want to live without them again! OTOH, I have to argue with the glass doors. We all love the look, but the upkeep is just not worth it. I have them, and I installed a shower curtain inside them so that I don't have to squeegee every shower and clean them every week. I'm much happier.

Joseph's coat can be a very beautiful rose but in the PNW it does best as a large shrub. This rose needs loving care and does better in rich or clay type soil. It also requires extra fertilizer. Yes, it is prone to BS but it still is worth spraying with a dormant oil and suphur type in the early spring before it starts to bud out . Then again in the late spring but using the weaker summer solution.
Pinata grows best as a large shrub and looks better in partial shade (which it tolerates) to perserve the different colours of the flowers. They also last longer too. I didn't like the fade out and discoloration of Pinata until I grew it in partial shade and there is definitly a difference. I honestly don't think either one of these climbers will droop or even bend as their cans are quite stiff. Friesinger Morgenrote also is happiest as a large shrub and again has stiff canes but is still a good climber. In my garden the repeat was not generous.

Patrick, Pinata will not weep. It is really just a tall stiff shrub. I know you won't like it for a climber. The rose someone mentioned Sunrise is really exceptionally beautiful. It grows very well here with a little less disease than Joeseph's Coat. The color is softer, more interesting. You'd have to start with a band. I got mine from Vintage.

One thing to consider in laundry room- how short is the person doing laundry? for stacked machines, impossible to use the top if person is 5'3' or less.

And also, is the back of machines easily accessible for service/repair- otherwise 2 people will be needed to move, etc.

Love the simplicity in the photos!

I love number 2.

when I was a wee dot, I remember ”helping” my grandmother with laundry. Every Monday was laundry day, everything including bedding was washed. She filled a large barrel with water and soap, smooshed the washing with a dolly (a sort of funnel shaped thing with holes on a long handle), then it got hauled out and rinsed in a big sink. She wrung out everything by hand, big things like sheets went through the mangle to get more water out. Then it was all hung outside to dry, or all over the verandah on a rainy day. Then on Tuesday she stood and ironed it all. Laundry really was a ”daunting chore” in those days. Now we shove it in machines and have so many non-iron easy care fabrics. I remember grandma’s hands were so strong, and always red on Monday.

I have Wollerton Old Hall and it is going on 5 years old. It has stayed at 8 ft for a few years now. It is very wide..say 5-6 ft. I was hoping it would go over the top of my pergola but no luck. I don't care though it's blooms are so gorgeous!!

On the other side of the pergola I have Lady Hillingdon..oh boy howdy..no lady here..she is well over 15 ft and still going!! .Same age as Wollerton.

This was such a lovely thread to revive. So many beautiful roses and people. I do miss pat_bamaz7 and wonder what happened to her. She mentioned she was caring for her mother. I remember that most things that she found to be true in her garden were true for me as well. BTW her comment about Perle d'Or being bulletproof and a good bloomer are true for me too.
