Turned an empty, unused formal living room into a hip bourbon bar and library lounge for a couple who relocated to DFW from Louisville, KY. They wanted a place they could entertain friends or just hang out and relax with a cocktail or a good book. We added the wet bar and library shelves, and kept things modern and warm, with a wink to the prohibition era. The formerly deserted room is now their favorite spot. Our Long Island studio used a bright, neutral palette to create a cohesive ambiance in this beautiful lower level designed for play and entertainment. We used wallpapers, tiles, rugs, wooden accents, soft furnishings, and creative lighting to make it a fun, livable, sophisticated entertainment space for the whole family. The multifunctional space has a golf simulator and pool table, a wine room and home bar, and televisions at every site line, making it THE favorite hangout spot in this home. ---Project designed by Long Island interior design studio Annette Jaffe Interiors. For this classic San Francisco William Wurster house, we complemented the iconic modernist architecture, urban landscape, and Bay views with contemporary silhouettes and a neutral color palette. We subtly incorporated the wife's love of all things equine and the husband's passion for sports into the interiors. The family enjoys entertaining, and the multi-level home features a gourmet kitchen, wine room, and ample areas for dining and relaxing. An elevator conveniently climbs to the top floor where a serene master suite awaits.
