This Ann Arbor home 1st floor remodeling project encompassed updating a 90s kitchen and highlighting it in bold beautiful colors. It also included updating the living room with a natural wood Scandinavian feel, give the fireplace a facelift, change the staircase to something more modern and transform our clients’ home into something they love every day.

For this stunning home, our St. Pete studio created a bold, bright, balanced design plan to invoke a sophisticated vibe. Our love for the color blue was included in the carefully planned color scheme of the home. We added a gorgeous blue and white rug in the entryway to create a fabulous first impression. The adjacent living room got soft blue accents creating a cozy ambience. In the formal dining area, we added a beautiful wallpaper with fun prints to complement the stylish furniture. Another lovely wallpaper with fun blue and yellow details creates a cheerful ambience in the breakfast corner near the beautiful kitchen. The bedrooms have a neutral palette creating an elegant and relaxing vibe. This residence represents the dynamic collaboration between artist and architect. The architectural experience seeks to unite the tactile warmth of earth and clay with the compositional elegance of craft. Against a textured canvas of linen and limestone, light is leveraged to bring dimension and life to the architecture on every level. Through the radical embrace of nature, guests are greeted by a 16’ tall Australian Brachychiton tree as they enter the double-height entry. The home is organized around a large, outdoor courtyard which creates fluid continuity and access between the indoor and outdoors. From a chandelier of ceramic bells to a locally sourced, custom dining table, every major element has been calibrated to add to timeless composition of the home.

The living room is an evening retreat for the client so we used a dark green on all walls and woodwork to create a sumptuous and cosy feel and painted the ceiling in a dusky hued pink for a contemporary way to introduce some colour. Bespoke joinery provides clever storage solutions and more texture and vibrancy is brought in by the large rug which helps centre the furniture.

The Grand Family Room furniture selection includes a stunning beaded chandelier that is sure to catch anyone’s eye along with bright, metallic chairs that add unique texture to the space. The cocktail table is ideal as the pivoting feature allows for maximum space when lounging or entertaining in the family room. The cabinets will be designed in a versatile grey oak wood with a new slab selected for behind the TV & countertops. The neutral colors and natural black walnut columns allow for the accent teal coffered ceilings to pop.
