We love the shutters and blinds we ordered from her, especially the custom shutters for a big arch window in our family room (see photo). We reached out to a few companies when we were searching for shutters and blinds, but Gladys was the most responsive. “I had Jeff Johnson come to my home to give us an estimate on a closet that I wanted to turn into a pantry/office closet. He was on time for the appointment and was very pleasant and knowledgeable during the consultation. He listened to all of my needs and concerns and had options for me to choose from. He was able to do a 3-D rendering on his laptop so I could tell what the closet would look like. Other companies are still just drawing the design out on a sketch pad. He represented Bay Home and Window very well and I would highly recommend him. I have chosen not to purchase at this time because of some remodeling we are doing, but will definitely call him when we are ready.”

“I called Blinds and Designs to come out and provide a bid for shades on a large skylight. We haven't installed them yet because all our bid came back over our budget. Blinds and designs were not the cheapest quote we received, but David, who came out and showed me some options, was very responsive, punctual and communicated well with me via email and phone. I appreciated his professionalism and would consider them again when we get our budget in order.”

I was so impressed with the high level of personal customer service and attention to detail that I hired him again when we bought a new home in Orinda in 2016. He is the epitome of professional and customer-focused. He will listen to what you want and need and take into consideration your unique home and won't try to upsell you - he'll just bring in the samples that fit your needs and is an expert on all of the products he carries. When a cord broke on one of our Oakland blinds about 9 months after installation I called him and he had the whole 7' wide blind replaced within two weeks. And when our blinds arrived much earlier than he quoted for our Orinda home, he came that day to install them himself because his installer was booked and he knew we needed them to help our young children sleep (early bedtimes and long summer days make for a tough time getting babies and toddlers to sleep). I can't recommend him highly enough.”

“I first hired Doreen from Windows and Beyond about 20 years ago when my kids were just babies. She did a wonderful job with our starter home which had very tall windows. Doreen managed to do a combination of drapery panels and Hunter Douglas products that made our home very cozy. She also made the kids room very vibrant. We didn't need to update anything when we sold our home. Doreen's approach really stuck with me because she took the time to think through our needs. I used Doreen again when we moved to our second home. The kids were older then so we did a formal living room but kept the rest of the house contemporary. Again when we sold our house the second time, it showed very well largely due to the window treatments. Of course I used Doreen again for our last move. This time I went with Doreen's recommendation to use motorization. I thought only my husband would appreciate the remote but I love it too.
