プロの建築建築写真家にかかる料金は通常、時間によって設定されることが多いようです。移動を伴う場合や、レタッチ作業を依頼する場合などは、その時間も撮影時間とは別に課金されます。フォトグラファーや写真事務所によっては、1時間単位で計算する場合と、3時間以内、6時間以内など数時間を区切って計算する場合があります。また、撮影の規模や条件に応じて、カメラやライティング機材の運搬料や、アシスタント等のスタッフにかかる費用が発生することもありますので事前に確認するようにしましょう。

次に注意すべき点は、カット数の上限です。時間内であれば、カット数に上限を設けていないケースや、1つの主題に対して1カットが料金に含まれ、2カット以上になると追加料金が発生するというケースがありますので、この点も確認する必要があります。

また、同じ写真事務所のなかで、特定のカメラマンを指名したり、撮影時に特定の天候を希望したりといったオプションに対しても料金は発生します。少なくても3人のプロカメラマンにあたり、見積もりとポートフォリオを比較して納得のいくプロに依頼をするとよいでしょう。
