“The Design Build Team interviewed us, solicited photos and dimensions of specific furniture and paintings that we had, took our desire to build a solar home (passive and active) with a nod toward Frank Lloyd Wright's Prairie style, and generated several architectural designs that met our budget and floor plan criteria. Upon approval of the design, they built the house with tremendous attention to detail. One challenge that was met creatively was to place a grand piano on the main floor, but not adjacent to windows or the fireplace. That was accomplished by building the staircase around the piano. Our new reverse story and a half home has a HERS rating of 60, meaning that it is 40% more efficient than a comparable house built to code. I recommend the DBT without qualifications!”

“We have known Justin Bloch and his company, Morgan Exteriors since 2006. Justin is very personable and easy to work with. Unlike other professionals, he listen's. He is very eager to help and comes up with many creative design ideas. What we loved about Justin and Morgan Exteriors was that they always kept in touch without using high-pressure tactics. Their prices are very reasonable. The people that came to work on the project were mostly family and friends, so they were very well behaved and worked hard. Justin was around for mostly the initial engagement and design phase. Knowing him, made us feel really comfortable about spending the money for our project. We did get other estimates. Some were lower and many were outrageous. We chose Morgan Exteriors largely because Justin constantly kept in touch without pressuring us.
Around 2007, we hired them to replace Siding, Window's/Doors and deck. It was a $50000 project. In 2014 we hired them again, to expand the Deck ($1800). The Quality of work done for both of these projects was very high and we have been extremely happy. Over time, the seal on some of the window's broke and Morgan Exteriors replaced them, no Fuss. I wanted to hire them for other interior work but unfortunately they do not do that.
I will definitely hire them for other Exterior work in the future.”

“I started using Thayne in 2005 where he designed a 4000 sq ft beachfront home in Mashpee, Ma, in 2011 where designed a 4000 sq ft home in Westwood, Ma. and currently in 2015/2016 where he's designing a 2000 sq foot home.
In all three homes, his expert design and his ability to foresee potential challenges and have his design to be perfect at the end of the job is second to none!
His ability to choose color schemes, furniture and wall covering is enjoyed by everyone that enters our homes!

“Matt was recommended to us by a friend for a bathroom remodel that we were looking into. We had a small outdated shower that was built with the house, and wanted to replace it with a tiled shower that gave us more room and improved the look of our smallish master bathroom. We had 3 companies come out and give us estimates. Matt made us feel the most at ease and was very receptive to our budget, allowing us to make decisions based on how much the individual items would cost, and how esthetically pleasing they were. He completed the project quite fast and asked our opinion at every step. The only delay was the glass shower door - but Matt switched suppliers after the original supplier gave him too long of a lead time. He listened well and showed up on time. I wish I had before photos but they weren't worth looking at anyway! The bathroom is too small to get a wide angle of the shower but I included some details. He worked with local companies and we had the opportunity to go in and select our fixtures, tile choices, and granite pieces. We learned a lot in the process and love our new shower (especially including the pebble floor - that was a necessary for me!) He also just completed a basement remodel with wall knockout, and we brought him on to do our french doors in the living room!”

“Jim Basnett of Basnett Design-Build-Remodel, is a builder that we discovered from seeing his sign and trucks in our neighborhood here in Lexington. He did extensive remodeling and addition work on a house on our street. Based upon the work we saw him doing with our neighbor, as well as all of the outstanding reviews on Angie's List, we asked Jim to help us with our own plans. From our first call, Jim was always extremely responsive and receptive, happy to talk to us and guide us. He sent us a list of references - a very long list, I might add, of clients that he worked with in the past - a huge percentage of which are actually continuing clients, meaning clients that are so happy with his work, when they want to do a new project, they call Jim back again.
We are going to be leaving Lexington and moving to a nearby town, where we will be tearing down a rundown wreck of a house and building a handicapped accessible ranch in it's place. We had many conversations with Jim about the process. We had not yet bought a property when we first began talking, so he walked us through the steps, ideas, speaking specifically about land drainage, insulation, energy, costs, and countless other details, so that we had an idea of what to look for in a property, and how to proceed with the teardown and new construction. He looked at a few properties for us online, giving his input, and offering to come out to see and assess potential properties for us. Very importantly, he recommended a few realtors to act as buyers agents for us, and we did very happily engage one of them. Ultimately, we ended up not using Jim, but only because we found a different excellent builder (I never knew even one existed, let alone TWO!) who's schedule happened to be open and could begin our project immediately. Timing for us is fairly tight, details not important, so that was a key deciding factor for us. We can't thank him enough for his dedication to us, his invaluable advice, his bestowing to us of an excellent on-point realtor who cares about customer service more than her commission and his big picture view of how being moral, open and honest, is always the best policy.”
