“Tim has done some marvelous work on our home such as gorgeous moldings and built in bookcases in the library, a molding around the fireplace, built in window seat and bookcases for my daughter's bedroom and an entertainment unit that he came back to adjust years later when we bought a flat screen TV. “I love my new raised garden beds!!! I initially had just an idea of what I wanted to optimize growing space in my tiny backyard. I gave a rough concept overview to Sam and he immediately came back with great ideas that included computer-animated diagrams to help me visualize. Once the decision was made, Sam was flexible in working around my difficult schedule to get the work done when it was convenient for me. “We hired ZSR this spring to renovate our kitchen. It was a major project that included removing soffits, removing two walls, reconfiguring islands, installing new cabinets, building a custom cabinet, re-routing some plumbing, installing new lighting, hiding a header, etc. Zach and Shawn did an excellent job. We have the kitchen of our dreams, and they were a dream to work with! We couldn't be happier with ZSR. They were punctual, precise, clean, polite, flexible, creative, hard-working, responsive. We would highly recommend them (and we have to anyone who even hints they might be thinking about a home renovation.) “Installed specialized tile in our kitchen, kept area clean and had full access to our residence, anytime to complete the work at his and our convienience. Worked during the winter months installing a new 3 story stainless steel chimney liner, insulated chimney as well and installed a whole new chimney, tieing the new chimney to the old below the roof line, with specific concerns to prevent leakage, finally recommending and installing a stainless steel cap.”

大工の種類


建築工法が多様化した今日、Tinicum, PAの大工は仕事の内容によってさまざまな種類に分類されます。

    和の邸宅に合うような漆喰壁を施工するというイメージが強い左官職人ですが、モルタルやタイルなどの素材を使って壁を塗る人も含まれます。施工には特に資格は必要ありませんが、国家技能検定である「左官技能士」や「登録左官基幹技能者」という資格を有している職人さんもおり、プロを選ぶ判断の一助となることでしょう。最近ではDIYでも珪藻土の塗り壁の施工を行う人が多いですが、マスキングの技術や、下塗り、(場合によっては) 中塗り、上塗りとその工程は意外と時間がかかり難儀なもの。また、下地に密着しきれずカビが生えてしまった、ひび割れしてしまったなどのトラブルもあるのだそうです。繊細な仕上げを求めるのであれば、プロに左官工事を依頼するのがベストです。
