“There is only one word for Marg and that has to be "awesome"! We hired Marg for several projects in our home. She designed my 8 year old son's room in a skateboard theme, provided murals, magnetic boards (a huge skateboard), and made the room a perfect haven for an 8 year old. She also provided boards and designs for my 10 year old daughter and son. Both loved their rooms. Her latest project was our (tween)playroom (pics are posted). Her work is creative, on time, practical, and is truly one of a kind. From the large pencil light to the lego door knobs- she does it all! The kids practically live in the playroom now! We love Marg's work and always recommend her to friends. She can totally change the look of a room within any budget. She is a joy to work with and we are always a little sad to see her go when the project is done! Check out the playroom pics under Margs work and you'll see what I mean.”

“Five stars do not do enough justice for Renata and her wonderful work but the system does not allow for more! In our home she did a large mural at my daughter's room of the Aegean and Greek-island architecture. She was always polite and humble in her dealings with us, she went above & beyond with the detail so it comes to perfection, and literally speaking she brought a vivid part of Greece in our daily lives here in Canada! I attach some pictures because the end-result came even better than my wildest expectations. She was detailed and spent a bit more time on it, as she cannot settle with something which is not to her standards As she is also an architect, her work is more "involved/evolved" that "simply mural painting" and it shows. Pricing was also quite reasonable. Thanks again Renata and it was a pleasure working with you!”

“My husband and I are the proud owners of a Sarah Phelps custom original painting. I found Sarah on Houzz and miraculously she lives in the same city as we do. Our second meeting with Sarah was in our home where she got a feel for the room as well as us, the owners. She said meeting at our house gave her a good starting point. The only parameter we gave Sarah was in the way of colour. The rest was up to her and she delivered most beautifully. Aside from having a warm personality, Sarah is a good listener and really understood what we wanted. We have a basement renovation happening later this year and I am already dreaming of getting another painting. I know Sarah will understand what we will need for that space as well.”

“Last year, my husband and I commissioned Pam to create a mural on our garage. We wanted something that reflected the local animal life and our quirkiness to provide a backdrop to our backyard parties. Pam came up the perfect design. We then had the fun of watching her paint it in the wonderful colour palette she chose. It just pops! This was made more special because my husband at the time was dying of cancer. Thankfully he lived long enough to enjoy the final piece. As importantly, he had a chance to meet Pam and learn what a sensitive, creative and thoroughly professional artist she is. Pam came back this year to add a memorial tribute to Jack. I cannot think of a better way for me to remember him and the fun we shared. I recommend Pam highly.”

“Over the past 10 years I have built a large collection of Lori,s work. I have even been fortunate enough to obtain some pieces that have never actually gone up for sale. I myself, have worked in the high end renovation industry for over 35 years, and have had the opportunity to work with many of the best artisans in the country. In writing this review for lori, I honestly have to say, she is the most talented artisan I have met, in terms of circumferencing there trade. I believe there are no limitations to what she can create. It has been a great pleasure knowing and collecting Lois,s work and am always excited about what is coming next. It is always a suprise! She is a true artist!”

“Suzanne has been doing beautiful finishes for my clients for the last 13 years. I love working with her. She always has great ideas to compliment my designs and is amazing to work with. Her prices are fair and she works is a timely and today fashion. The best part is that she always makes me look like a star. My clients love her. She has done some work in my home as well and this picky designer is so proud to show everyone the incredible work she has done. She is an artist at heart and I recommend her as often as I can. She not only does plaster work and custom patterns but can do unique glass finishes too! “We had seen Justine’s lovely artwork in a Canadian House and Home Magazine a few years ago. As we really liked her art, I saved the tear sheet and when we were ready we contacted her. Justine was a delight to work with from the start. She came to our home, we talked about what we type painting we were looking for and gave her a budget. She delivered a fabulous piece for us on time and within budget. The painting is a focal point in our dining room and we receive compliments every time someone sees it. Justine has terrific energy and a wonderful personalty. Both of theses traits come out when working with her and in the art she creates. She is a truly talented artist and a pleasure to work with.”

お部屋を飾るインテリアとなる作品を作るアーティストや工芸家には、次のような種類があります。
  • 画家：絵画制作の専門家。広義ではイラストレーターやグラフィックデザイナーも含まれます。一般的に、画家が自らの創作意欲に基づいて自分の描きたいテーマで作品を仕上げて絵画を販売するのに比べ、イラストレーターやグラフィックデザイナーはクライアントからの依頼に基づいて作品を作るところが大きな違いです。
  • 版画家：版画で作品を表現するアーティスト。版画は、木、金属、石などの面に像を描き、その上にインクなどを塗って紙に転写して絵画を作成する方法で、木版画、銅版画、リトグラフ（石版画）など色々な種類があります。
  • 工芸家：実用品に芸術的な手を加えた作品をつくる専門家。「クラフトデザイナー」とも呼ばれます。扱う素材により、木工工芸家、ガラス工芸家、染色工芸家などさまざまな種類があります。陶芸家や彫刻家も広義では工芸家と言えます。
  • 陶芸家：粘土を整形し窯で焼いて陶磁器などをつくる専門家。「陶工」とも呼ばれます。
  • 彫刻家：素材を彫り込んで立体作品、オブジェなどをつくる専門家。


トロント, ONのアート・工芸を販売する専門家


アートの作家本人が作品を販売するケースもありますが、有名なアーティストになると、美術品を扱う専門家が仲介することがほとんどです。
  • 美術商：アーティストから作品を仕入れて販売する専門家。「アートディーラー」とも呼ばれます。
  • 画商：美術商の中でも、特に絵画を扱う専門家。作品を展示するスペースをもつ場合は、「画廊」や「ギャラリー」と呼ばれます。
  • 古美術商：美術商の中でも、特に古い時代の作品、いわゆる骨董品・アンティークを扱う専門家。

クリエーター本人が自分の作品を販売する場合は、特定商取引法に注意する必要があります。
