“When I was looking for an artist to commission for a painting of my daughter naturally I wanted to select an individual Whos style of painting I liked. But also what was incredibly important was that this artist could share my vision of the painting whereby they incorporated their style to my requests. I could not have wished any more than what I received from Claire. She was patient and understanding throughout the whole process and made it a pleasure to experience. Claire made certain the end result was exactly what we wanted and to say we were ecstatic with the painting would be an understatement. “We commissioned Mendo to create 3 main peices for our new home.. It was my first foray into the world of custom art, and Mendo was fantastic to deal with.. He came to the home, got a feel for our decor, then showed us a bunch of previous work, while making some suggestions. We picked the style we were after, and Mendo took care of the rest. The whole process was great, and we love what we ended up with, we get lots of positive comments on the art work.”

“I have commissioned Karen Hopkins on many occasions to create some individual art pieces for our home and our beach house. Karen was amazing to work with and her passion for each piece of artwork was obvious. She took the time to work within my brief regarding colour and mood. The abstract landscapes that Karen created were inspired by nature; and her use of colour and texture resulted in amazing pieces that you cannot help but have an emotional response to.”

お部屋を飾るインテリアとなる作品を作るアーティストや工芸家には、次のような種類があります。
  • 画家：絵画制作の専門家。広義ではイラストレーターやグラフィックデザイナーも含まれます。一般的に、画家が自らの創作意欲に基づいて自分の描きたいテーマで作品を仕上げて絵画を販売するのに比べ、イラストレーターやグラフィックデザイナーはクライアントからの依頼に基づいて作品を作るところが大きな違いです。
  • 版画家：版画で作品を表現するアーティスト。版画は、木、金属、石などの面に像を描き、その上にインクなどを塗って紙に転写して絵画を作成する方法で、木版画、銅版画、リトグラフ（石版画）など色々な種類があります。
  • 工芸家：実用品に芸術的な手を加えた作品をつくる専門家。「クラフトデザイナー」とも呼ばれます。扱う素材により、木工工芸家、ガラス工芸家、染色工芸家などさまざまな種類があります。陶芸家や彫刻家も広義では工芸家と言えます。
  • 陶芸家：粘土を整形し窯で焼いて陶磁器などをつくる専門家。「陶工」とも呼ばれます。
  • 彫刻家：素材を彫り込んで立体作品、オブジェなどをつくる専門家。
