Our home is a combination of Italian and French design. Everything was done to a tee! We could not be more pleased with their knowledge of art, art history, history, architecture, etc. You cannot go wrong with them.”

“When we first interviewed Carl many years ago, we were impressed by his ability to problem solve with the client and create positive outcomes with problematic situations. That impression proved true in all our projects with Carl. Our first project involved turning a ranch style home into a two story home. The staircase was a bit tricky but Carl created a gorgeous staircase that really pulled the whole project together. Our second project was a rescue on Carl's part. We were planning major winterization and expansion of a summer home including all new kitchen and garage with apartment. Unfortunately, our relationship with the architect in that state deteriorated to an unacceptable level. After calling Carl for advice on dealing with this, we fired the other architect and hired Carl. He worked with the plans we had and immediately identified the problems and suggested the perfect solutions. He attended a Coastal Area Committee meeting to make sure the plans and project were accepted. Our third project was just this past year on the second home. It entailed creating a new master bath and walk-in closet by moving rooms and the addition of a screened porch. Once again, Carl listened to what we were trying to accomplish and came up with exactly what we wanted. Another aspect to Carl's work is that the builders we have used have been impressed with his plans.”

“The staff at Ohashi Design Studio helped me design my kitchen/living space. I wanted to open up our galley kitchen to be able to see our incredible view from the kitchen. They came up with a design I never imagined could work so well. Rather than just remove a wall, they moved the kitchen, changed it to a more functional shape and not only opened up the view, but made the living space feel like we were outside. I have been especially impressed with their level of service. They listened to my dreams and goals and turned it into a reality beyond what I'd hoped for. I have found that architects are often either technical architects or design architects. Barry is a creative design architect first, but all his technical skills are excellent as well. “Aaron Green could not have asked for a more worthy heir than Daniel Ruark, just as Frank Lloyd Wright could not have asked for a more worthy heir than Aaron Green. In 2013, I purchased a small residence on the Stanford campus designed by Aaron Green, a real gem of a house that had an outdoor tool shed in the carport area. I consulted Ruark about transforming the shed into a master bathroom that would incorporate into the main house without compromising or adding to the main plan. Ruark produced an ingenious, exquisite design, down to the last detail, and oversaw the construction, which entailed considerable challenges. The result is a stunning master bathroom that blends seamlessly into the unique architecture and color tones of the house. Daniel Ruark's professionalism, honesty, and devotion to his work are exemplary. He is a a master artist of organic architecture. Aaron Green recognized this, and the work Ruark did for me confirms it.”

“We have worked with Rob for several years now on a few projects and he always does an amazing job. In addition to being an extremely talented architect, he is very easy to work with. We completely gutted our kitchen and Rob oversaw the entire project while we were away. I had assumed that we would need to hire a kitchen designer along with an architect, but Rob was able to design a beautiful and also incredibly functional kitchen. Having lived with our new kitchen for over 2 years now, there isn't a single thing I would change. He has a great aesthetic and was also extremely helpful in picking out hardware, lighting, and appliances. We have also had him work on the outside of our house and he is currently working on several bedrooms, bathrooms and an office. Rob is very efficient and detail oriented - his drawings are very thorough which always helps make the projects go smoothly.”

We came to him after already having some pretty solid ideas, but he did a fantastic job of walking the line between respecting what we had already decided and adding some suggestions that might work better. After being frustrated with a lack of response from contractors, painters, tilers, and others involved in a remodel, it was so refreshing to find Matt and his promptness in replying to our emails. Having gotten used to having to wait a few days to hear from others, it was so great to hear back from Matt within a few hours. Matt was extremely helpful with linking us up with engineers and other subcontractors, including working with the city regarding permits and passing along some discounts that he was able to get for certain supplies. We have already recommended him to a few other friends and would not hesitate to do so again in the future.”
