Their service is horrible! The glass panel on our garage door was installed with damages (black spots and crack) and we have been asking this be replaced for months and problem still not resolved. More than once they have told us that they have ordered the glass replacement and they would take care of the issue. But those are all lies after more than 5 months of waiting and follow ups. Finally I was fed up and asked for their General Manager and he used the same tactic saying things will be done but kept putting us off. DO NOT USE this company. I have never left reviews on websites, but I feel strongly that I need to let other customers know how they serve their customers! VERY VERY disappointed with their product, customer service and their senior management.

Terrible company, terrible service. I ordered a gate 9 months ago and still don't have it. Josh Llamas promised me the garage doors and gate would be done before Christmas, which would have been about 5 weeks. They should be ashamed of themselves. What an embarrassment!!

I cannot recommend this company. As a single older woman who is also a retired designer, and have had many construction, landscape, companies working for me on different projects, I have never come across something like this. Month's of lies, has to when the gate and garage door was to be installed. False representations of the completed job. A sales man, with a gross lack of communication skills. Phone calls to customer service that still have not been returned. I could go on, and on. -0 is my score for this company

In June of 2016 Ziegler Doors installed their Custom Garage Door - Modern 007. This style has three 4" high horizontal stainless strips that run the length of garage doors. After installation I expressed disappointed that the stainless strips had vertical seams in the center which was unattractive. The drawing Ziegler furnished with their quote did not show a break in the center of each strip. I expressed my concern to Ziegler and they offered to remake the doors. Due to the length of my garage door opening, stainless is not available as a continuous strip so Ziegler suggested using a powder coated continuous metal plate on the replacement doors. I accepted their proposal and at no cost to me the replacement doors were built and installed. The metal strips were covered with blue tape and upon removing the tape, patches of the powder coat also came off exposing blotches of rusted metal. Ziegler agreed to build and install another (3rd) set of doors at no cost to me. The doors with the accent metal strips were installed this week and they look great. Ziegler went the extra distance to make me a satisfied customer which they succeeded in doing. They stand behind their work for which they are to be commended.

I would give negative 100 stars if I could. This company installed our garage door as a sub-contractor for our home builder. From the outset, it appeared as if the hardware was laboring under tremendous strain to lift the door. Shortly thereafter, hardware flew off the door. Zielger came out at our builder’s request and insisted that the installation was correct. After our Liftmaster died (well within its warranty period), we obtained a third-party evaluation and learned that the springs installed by Ziegler were incorrect, such that the motor was operating under excessive strain. Ziegler’s mistake was significant in that the springs were rated for a max weight of 478 lbs and our door was 600 lbs. Again, we notified the builder and Ziegler came out to “evaluate.” The gentleman who supervised the work for Ziegler Doors stated that he was hired as the General Manager 6 months ago and was not personally involved with the installation for our builder. Nonetheless, before weighing the door or conducting any kind of evaluation beyond a minimal visual survey, he asserted that he was “100% certain” that this was a “maintenance issue” and not a “specification issue.” He further stated, in front of the builder’s representative, that if he were Joe’s Garage Door, driving into our neighborhood, he would smell money, and say whatever was necessary to make a “quick buck” and sell us new springs. Additionally, he claimed that he did not need to weigh the door to determine that the springs were adequate because Ziegler routinely installs springs and hardware that are rated to carry a 1200 lb door. I have now had two professional and highly rated garage door companies evaluate Ziegler’s installation. Both reached the same conclusion that the springs are clearly incorrect. Ziegler’s initial installation created a major safety hazard in my home. Their refusal to acknowledge the erroneous installation is irresponsible and in bad faith. I will file a complaint with the BBB and the Contractor’s Board. This company endangered the safety of my family and refused to correct their mistake even when presented with professional opinions and mathematical calculations showing that IPPT (inch pounds per turn) on their installation was plainly wrong.

Marina, There is always two sides to every story and I am sorry that you had this experience. We as a reputable contractor since 1967 in the garage door industry, we have seen many companies come and go over the years. I am very familiar with your project and this complaint in particular, I handled this issue for you personally. To the general public please note that there are 2 claims in here that cannot be validated. #1 springs are not measured by weight rating they are measured by "life cycles". A life cycle is the number of rotations a spring can handle and is based upon moderate use and weight is part of the calculation but is not how springs are rated. #2 the weight of the door, we weighed the door in front of her father-in-law and the door did not weigh 600 lbs. Where this weight thing came from is an industry rule of thumb that if the door weighs more than 600 lb the track has a different recommended size from 2" to 3". However this has to do with diflecton in the track and nothing to do with springs. There are 2 ways to deal with deflection on heavy doors. #1 larger track and #2 center and back hang brackets on the overhead track when door are within a considerable tolerance. Ziegler always uses the 2" track and a combined center and back hang bracket on all doors in the +/- 600 lb range.

It is a very common practice in the garage door industry for service technicians to claim the last guy did something wrong so they can inflate a bill (they make commissions). Spring change is the number one claim because it's the biggest thing you can do to a door (besides replacement of the door) generating $100-$200 commission for the tech. The only problem is you stated that the other company tech said the springs were wrong and track was wrong by just standing in your garage and looking at it. This is impossible, the weight is a factor in the springs but not the rating. This is unfortunately how some companies operate. Ziegler does not do this.

When we first received this complaint as you know we took it very seriously and we sent technicians to your home on several occasions to verify that perhaps, we did make a mistake. We took your entire door system apart and re weighed each section (most accurate) and calculated the weight and size of your door and it was determined that the springs size was within normal life cycle range for your door. No it was not the highest rating but it was well within size to operate your door. For free we reassembled the door and provided at no charge lube and tune on both your garage doors and upon departure they were both operating perfectly. What is not being mentioned here is that the Builder (a very large national builder) designed this door system, we bid the project the way it was designed and approved by the city building department and upon completion your home received an occupancy permit. If the system was dangerous or installed incorrectly no final building permit would have been issued. I am sorry that we could not have made you happy and it is unfortunate that we are having to reply to this slanderous statement of distorted facts. It is a counter balance system and they do not work when anything in the balance is incorrect. If the system was wrong, Ziegler would have fixed it. WE believe in making all our customers happy and we tried very hard to help you. WE are sorry that our education about your door system was superseded by a good salesman. Sincerely PR

Each and every time I drive in and out, my garage door gives me so much pleasure. It's gorgeous and has transformed the entire look my house . Every neighbor, friend, passing dog walker has commented how beautiful it is. Strangers ask me about it! Beautiful, unique designs, Locally made products (I saw it being made in the Santa Ana factory ) Fabulous, professional service. My Salesman Josh was patient with all my questions, quick to respond whenever I called, very knowledgable, not to mention really nice guy..
