Managed a renovation of my home which included removal of carpet in living room, dining room and hallway; arranging for and overseeing the restoration of the existing hardwood floor; replacing 10 interior doors and changing front closet door to a bifold; installing new kitchen countertop and backsplash; replacing flooring in kitchen, front and back entries; converting wood burning fireplace to gas including new face and mantle; painting interior rooms on the main floor and basement rec room; replacing floor in pool pump shed and painting the exterior trim of the house. I found working with Doug Hale to be an extremely pleasant experience. He went above and beyond what I expected to ensure that I was satisfied with the work being done. His workers were always on time, courteous and professional in their dealings with me. The work was completed within the expected timeframe and within the estimate provided. Doug provided a "one stop shopping" service that was greatly appreciated.

Roof replacement, started and completed on time . Owner of company personally inspected the workmanship quality durning and upon completion of job. We would certainly deal with this company in the future and highly recommend them.

We hired Whitetail Construction to vent air/heat to a room above our garage, then insulate the garage with sprayfoam and put up all new drywall. We have dealt with a lot of contractors in the past, and none of them have been as quick and efficient as Doug and his workers. They showed up on time every time, and were quick to get to work and get the job done. Doug explained every step of the process so we knew what was going on, and he addressed any unforeseen issues professionally and thoroughly. We couldn't believe the work was done on time and on budget, as this is often not the case with contractors. I am a past client of Doug Hale and Whitetail construction. Myself and my husband recommend him with the absolute highest regard. He made the home building experience the best possible experience, saved us a ton of money(over a pre-packaged builder), built us a fabulously well constructed home, treated us with dignity and respect through the process, and continued to check on us for 5 years after he finished the house. The only reason he stopped checking on us, and making recommendations if anything did go wrong, was that we unfortunately had to sell the home due to job relocation. The house did go over budget, but a few thousand dollars, which is absolutely nothing in this process. We were able to change our minds about all kinds of stuff as we went along, with no cost or up-charges to ourselves. I know that if we move back to the area, there is NO one else I would trust to build my home again, and I would recommend him to anyone!

We have hired Doug Hale on three separate occasions in our lives. We initially met him as the foreman for our custom built home, and he returned a few years later to finish off our basement. Most recently we've brought Doug back in to build a covered patio and a pool shed for our backyard renovation. Over the years, we have referred Doug to 3 friends who have built custom homes, where Doug is involved from concept to getting an architectural desgin, foundation to framing, drywall to final finishing. We have also referred Doug to several friends who have done basement finishing as well as home repair and renovation projects. I believe that all of these families would provide Doug with a solid recommendation. His background is a certified electrician who has expanded and become a very knowledgeable and well connected general contractor. His mode of operation is very transparent, showing all, well more correctly providing all quotes from the sub-trades to the owner, and qualifying the quote with his experience with that sub-trade. Sticking to the budget is managed by this close involvement with the owner and the sub-trades. We always know when we have bitten off more that our budget can chew, and Doug works to ensure we are hitting the right level of desire versus expense. Surprises are immediately communicated, and when a trade is at fault for it, Doug handles that very professionally and this alone would be worth referring Doug. Doug is very versed in bulding codes, has deep experience in building houses in a lasting and efficient manner. His on-site presence is frequent and effective, and in my experience he maintains a workload which allows him to provide appropriate levels of attention to the projects he has in flight. About the only knock on Doug's services is he doesn't venture into landscaping, generally preferring to leave the owners to deal with landscapers on their own.
