We had an amazing experience with the entire team at Hookipa through a series of renovation projects, including an adu kitchen remodel and fireplace reno. The design they came up with was beautiful and the work was fairly priced and high quality. Scott went above and beyond to make sure work was done to his high standards and when our house flooded in the middle of the project even came over during the storms to see if he could help us figure out how to stem the flooding. He then sprung to action to help us repair the damage. We can’t wait to work with Hookipa again!

Scott and his crew were excellent to work with. He was accessible throughout the project and I’m thrilled with my new kitchen and heated flooring system.

We had the BEST experience with Ho’okipa Design and Construction! The entire team was professional, friendly, organized, on time and on budget! Scott was on site regularly and took care of so many little details. As the owner, we did not expect to see him much but he was on site often and made sure his team stayed on track. He explained the process as we went along and any issues (nothing major) was dealt with quickly. Isa and Katie were the dream design team! They guided me to see my home in a new perspective and gently got me out of my comfort zone while being respectful and listening to what was important to me. Every room they designed is my favorite and my husband and I absolutely love this beautiful space. A huge thank you to the entire team at Ho’okipa for your vision and and dedication!

Scott recently helped us with a stone patio and walkway project. The patio structure was failing and there were trip hazards on the walkway. We are very happy with the resulting improvements. He was always available to answer questions and to provide oversight of the sub-contractors he hired. Overall, we found Scott to be friendly, conscientious, professional and knowledgeable. It was a pleasure working with him. We highly recommend Scott and we will use him in the future for other projects.

From concept to completion, I can recommend Ho'okipa with 5 stars. Isabel and Scott listened to our needs, visualized, and provided detailed plans that we loved. The bid was detailed and billing was clear with their online billing management system. Subcontractors were very good to excellent and Scott made sure their work was top notch and precisely completed. Job site was always left clean and tidy at day's end. This team is artistic, precise, and follows through with their work.

Isabel and Scott represent the best in the business- two consummate professionals who are both exceedingly skilled at what they do. I needed to add a bathroom to our master bedroom without adding square footage. They were able to create a showcase bathroom that didn't leave me feeling as if I lost any sq footage, in fact my bedroom seems larger! Both are perfectionists who take pride in their work. Our project came in on budget and on time.

I hired Ho'Okipa to redo bathrooms and make some minor kitchen additions. I met with 5 contractors including one I had worked with in the past. Just based on the estimate process, Scott really differentiated himself as significantly more professional. Scott's estimates and invoices are clear, specific, detailed, accurate and web based, so I have full paper trial of the process and invoices. Scott started on time and finished ahead of schedule and right on budget. We decided to return some kitchen hardware and Scott didn't blink ... it just happened. Scott's team were courteous and conscientious. They were very diligent about getting all work and surrounding areas clean at the end of the day. Everything went as advertised. I have some other projects in mind and will not hesitate to hire Ho'Okipa again.

I was a little nervous about hiring an interior designer for the first time due to the horror stories I had heard about going above budget, and pushing their own design ideas onto you. Being a single parent with little to no artistic talent I turned to Ho’okipa out of desperation. I needed an entire downstairs remodel of kitchen, dining room and upstairs bedrooms. I could not have been more impressed and happier with the results. Isa (possibly the sweetest professional on the planet) listened to every detail of what I was looking for (and I mean EVERY detail) and delivered a variety of options for me, ALL within budget, ALL were perfect! The hardest part of the process was choosing which design idea to go with. The way the plans were presented was way beyond what I imagined was even possible, and provided me with complete visualization of the finished project before a single item of furniture or paint had been purchased. Isa managed the entire project from start to finish, including ordering and shipping/delivery of furniture, staging of all the rooms and she even pulled out the vacuum (above and beyond in my book). I whole heartedly would recommend the Ho’okipa team to friends, family, strangers alike. I could not have been happier from start to finish, and felt completely relaxed through every stage of the process. Definitely not the stressful horror story I was expecting. We initially hired Scott Quittner (Ho'okipa) to do a full master bath remodel. He was easy to work with, knowledgeable, friendly, and very precise in his work He had a great crew and made sure all work was top notch. He had lots of good suggestions along the way. After the bath remodel, we were so pleased we hired him again to do a major update to the exterior of our Santa Barbara home, including a lot of construction and paint. Again, all the work was top quality and done in a timely and professional manner. We would both give Scott and Ho'okipa a 5 star rating. Best contractor we have ever worked with.

We have used Scott for nearly 20 years on many projects. He is always honest, considerate, keeps you informed as to progress and has very specific and detailed billing. Too many projects to mention but we have had multi faceted things happening at once ( major and minor remodels). You won’t be disappointed.
