1625 D/B is the result of three of NYC’s leading renovation industry professionals getting together and wondering: “ how can every facet of this process be improved? “ At 1625 D/B, we haven’t “reinvented the wheel,” but we have refined it. After successfully executing thousands of NYC construction projects, we took a step back. We looked at what worked well. We looked at what needed simplification, streamlining, adjustment or elimination, and we recalibrated. We believe that construction is a conversation. The unique dialogue of any given project will involve communication between clients and architects, designers and project managers, between tradespeople and materials. Our approach is rooted in a desire to build beautiful spaces and lifelong friendships with our clients and colleagues. To accomplish this, we employ principals of full-transparency, unparalleled craftsmanship, meticulous project management, a profound depth of experientially acquired problem solving ability in every stage of the project, from building approval and permitting processes to granular construction challenges. Had a lot of bumps during this project but overall I’m happy with the results. I wish there would have been more handholding at the beginning, because there were a lot of switches that had to be made during the course of the renovation which could’ve been avoided.

1625DB team did a great job with our UWS Penthouse Duplex. What started as a kitchen and 3 bathroom renovation turned into a lot more (almost full gut reno) and they completely delivered. Our project just like all others in the last year were hit with supply chain challenges but 1625DB team was awesome to work with as we navigated all those challenges and changes in scope from us. Special shout out goes to Alex Rouvas our project manager! He is amazing and words simply can not describe how awesome he was to work with. On point with his communication, thoughtful around what needs to get done - he brought an "owner" mindset to the project and delivered above and beyond!

JP from KBR was amazing to work with. We had never worked with an interior designer before so didn’t know what to expect but JP Made the process easy for us to understand and helped us each step of the way. She was also very receptive to ideas we brought to the table and worked them into the project in ways we wouldn’t have thought of. She was incredibly thoughtful coming up with material choices and kept our requirements in mind the whole way. During construction she was immensely helpful ensuring the work was done to spec and was committed to being sure we were happy. In short, JP was great and would love to work with her again. Five stars!

We hired 1625 to renovate our new apt. on UWS. We had a great experience, as from start to finish... speaking with friends and family we expect a rough times but happy to say that with some understandable challenges it all went pretty smooth. Time line was very important to us and we were always updated and informed of the weekly progress as we were out of town for almost the entire process. When we arrived (one week before they were finished...), I was impressed with how clean our apartment was and the way everything came together! I can't even mention the amount of details we had in this project during the design phase , Sara was great staying on top of us and Billy with his team made it all come to live. I worked with 1625DB last year removating my townhouse. It was a large undertaking but it was exciting and fun nonetheless. My husband and I enjoyed working with the team, both in the office and on site. I'm more than happy to recommend to my friends all around the city who need work done!

I worked 1625 last summer on a renovation to my brownstone in park slope. Everyone we worked with was professional, punctual, and easy to communicate with. They treated my home with respect while working inside and were kind and sensitive to the needs of our neighbors and tenant. I would gladly recommend them in the future to friends and family for any renovation project, and look forward to working with them again on further work in my home.

1625 renovated our apt. on dec. 2018. The scope included a full gut renovation of our new 2 bedroom apt. We just moved to the city and looked for someone to help with our first home renovation... The team was lead by Yosi (who is a phenomenal builder) that helped us create our new home. From dealing with our new board to all the design and construction challenges we always felt 1625db is there to help and accommodate. We are grateful for choosing them and highly recommend there services and craftsmanship. Thank you 1625!

I recommend 1625DB without any reservations! Spending time between London and NYC, I needed an experienced Design Build/Project Manager firm to renovate my Manhattan apartment without me needing to be onsite personally to oversee the project. The 1625DB team managed the renovation perfectly without any problem, time delays or budget extensions. The project was well executed and met all of my expectaions. My husband was especially impressed by the outcome, with the attention their design layout, daily communicatiuon,materials selection and fine details of my apartment. It would be nice if we could find another firm of comparably quality for my London house!

Communication over long distances is tough, but utilizing the technology we have at our fingertips helps to keep that communication tight and productive. We hired 1625DB for a complete home renovation and we could not be happier with the results! Our project manager was extremely professional, collaborative, and very mindful of what we were looking for. Our building is a prewar building and we wanted to make sure our apartment was more functional but still kept the character intact. They added great details that we never would have thought of, and all of the sub-contractors performed high quality work. I communicated with our PM and designer directly on a daily basis for 4 months and they were both very responsive, practical problem solvers, and overall incredibly nice people to work with! We absolutely love our new home!

My wife Sandra and I hired 1625 D/B to combined to apartments to a SFH. This was a very large job with the removal of load baring walls and the moving of washer/dryer. They were great with taking all the correct steps to make the job flow along. 1625 D/B were on time, professional, and delivered with the finished job.

I relocated my corporate offices to NYC two years ago and felt like I was living out of a suitcase , renting apartments in three different neighborhoods in 24 months while searching for a property to buy. An architect friend recommended Zak to come with me to look at apartments because he has an amzing ability to sort out how much it might cost to renovate a place just by walking through it and discussing what I wanted etc. In the end we thought it would be more cost effective to combine three adjoining units that were on the market in the Flatiron District. 1625 DB oversaw and performed all architectural process coordination , permiting , building approval , design , layout , finished materials , all trades and all the general labor to combine the three units. Construction finished within ten working days of the original proposed schedule and only went a few days over because of an elevator access issue with the building ( not 1625's fault ) and my decision to purchase cabinets from an overseas vendor. My combined four bedroom apartment is now vastly more valuable than comparable apartments in my neighborhood and I got it done at an astonishing value , these guys are an outstanding team , an outsanding value and an outstanding investment.
