We just moved to Alexandria from out of state and we had not been here before. We found and leased our townhouse sight-unseen (due to COVID we opted to do it all remotely) and I am so so thankful to Tara from https://tiernaninteriors.com/ We didn't know what to bring or how our existing furniture would work in the new space so she helped us plan, shop, decorate, organize and most importantly she saved us so much time! She helped us learn what we liked, what we really didn't and helped us be intentional with our home decor. What's most amazing is that she helped us combine our styles and found a way to make things work together that I would have never imagined together. She helped us not only incorporate our older belongings and showcase all of the things that were meaningful to us, but she also incorporated the new things that we liked. Her ability to work with materials, styles, colors and space is incredible. She can make anything work! We don't just LOVE our new space, we don't want to leave our home! We also didn't have to stress about what furniture to buy, wonder if it would fit, and decide what to donate or keep. She helped us with all of that. She measured the new place out for us, found us a cleaning lady, a handyman, she picked up furniture for us she found on FB Marketplace, she took items to the donate center and I don't have finished photos yet because she is still helping us with a few more items to help us make our place our home! Tara was absolutely awesome! We designed an ocean front condo from scratch. I do not know anything about interior designing. She was patient and worked with me every step of the way. She has an awesome eye for color and balance as well as appropriate space use. She guided us in everything from light fixtures to floor selection to paint colors to furniture selection. She then helped us set everything up. It is totally beautiful and we could not have done it without her! Thank you Tara for your awesome work in helping us to have this one of a kind absolutely wonderful place to call our home away from home!

Working with Tiernan Interiors was a very smooth and painless experience. Tara understood the vision we had for our dining room from the start. As first-time home buyers, my husband and I had a lot of expenses popping up everywhere and we knew we wanted to have our dining room designed, but within our budget. Along the process, we realized that we had to sacrifice some things- like grass cloth wall paper- but Tara did not miss a beat and was able to find an alternative that worked for us. Throughout the entire design process, Tara was incredibly collaborative. The end result was truly magnificent and is a space that is welcoming and ready for entertaining.

Tara is amazing. She designed my newborn daughter’s nursery and it is easily now my favorite room in our house. I didn’t have much of an idea of what I wanted, and wasn’t sure how to even describe the few ideas I did have, but tara was able to pick up on my style and read my cues to design what turned out to be the perfect nursery. As a first time mom, I really appreciated that Tara focused on both the visual and functional aspects of the room. She picked beautiful pieces of furniture and decor that fit the space, are kid friendly and safe, and also provide ample storage which was important to me as the room is on the smaller side. From paint colors, selecting furniture, picking decor and a theme, and then flawlessly installing it all, I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Tara is responsive, creative, listens, and has an eye for the details. I highly recommend her - you’ll be happy you hired her!
