In 1999 Grant Hiscock established Gem Appelle Designs which continued until the end of 2018 when, in the spirit of collaboration, Grant and long time friend Erin Salguero (director of ARTIS PURA Pty Ltd) decided to come together with the vision to bring art and design together. ARTIS PURA Designs is an interior design consultancy offering a wide range of decorating and renovation services to South-East Queensland. Whether you are interested in transforming one room or your whole home, our range of services will take you from the initial ideas through to completion and we can also arrange for complete project management of your renovations if required. We believe in taking the time to get to know you and how you utilise your home to create the wonderful interior you are after. It can start with something as simple as new linen for your bed, bath or table and go up to a complete remodel. We have also put together some great priced package deals, depending on the specific requirements.

Grant has been able to distill the vision I had for my home and enable it through his creative skills along with being able to deal with the many details which I often get a bit lost in. His ideas are brilliant and watching them gradually take shape is wonderfully fulfilling. He has actually saved me money given his advice about a few things in the house that I would have done differently without his advice and saved me from making a very expensive mistake. He communicates clearly and quickly, is professional, has a great sense of humour, and a joy to work with. I can't thank Grant enough for his contribution to what is becoming a beautiful home.

Redline Building Design

My experience, collaborating with Gem'Appelle Designs, for a recent renovation & extension project has been nothing short of delightful. Grant is courteous and attentive, always with the clients best interests in mind. He clearly has pride in his work, but is also a good open listener and valuable contributor to design discussions. We had never considered an interior designer before but are thrilled we did. Grant has been marvellous. Our starting point for the refurbishment of our home is the kitchen but Grant has considered each of our rooms, how we use them, our tastes and ideas and delivered a proposal for a great central kitchen which will work seamlessly with the additional work to be completed throughout the house. Grant is professional and innovative with a wonderful style sense. We have happily recommended him to friends and family and will continue to work with him as we complete our refurbishment.

After 3 disasterous attempts to obtain a kitchen design and quote that met my requirements as a profesional chef my wife and i were ready to give up on getting a new kitchen, then a relative suggested we contact grant hiscock at gem appelle designs, the following weekend grant was at our house to discuss our requirements and ideas for the renovation. For the first time we had someone who had new ideas and listened to what we thought we wanted and also pointed out benefits and disadvantages in our wished for kitchen,within a week grant had a amazing kichen plan ready and at a price that had everything included from start to finish including appliances, grants design gave us twice the space of our suggested design and is extremely user friendly and visualy stunning. We highly recommend grant from gem appelle to anyone thinking of undertaking a kitchen renovation. Grant listens and understands his clients and has fantastic customer service abilities. Grant is truly amazing!

ARTIS PURA Custom Framing

Grant assisted us with the renovations of our kitchen. He literally helped us transform the space. Once a pokey and unusable space it is now open and practical for a family of 4. He also understood my love for art and by redesigning the space created more wall space for hanging. Since then I have referred him to a dear friend whose kitchen he also transformed. He didn't just come in and change colours he asked how you want to use the kitchen so that the space actually worked and looks amazing at the same time.

In 2015 Grant of Gem’Appelle Designs helped us create a most delightful kitchen. He was a pleasure to work with as he had great ideas and was never pushy. He project managed the entire build from design to installation and the whole process was seamless and stress free. Grant is a gentleman, friendly so good with people. A real professional and can go from advising us in our home as well as our flat. Grant had to cope with changing minds, wife and husbands different styles and mid life craziness at times. I would recommend Grant for any design ideas.
