Waterwise Landscapes Incorporated

We couldn't be happier with the transformation WaterWise Landscapes has brought to our yard. Their xeriscape design has replaced the once overgrown shrubs and lawn-intensive yard, creating a lovely and sustainable outdoor space. To help handle drainage issues we were having, they incorporated terraces into the design along with our requested French drain, all of which effectively improved the flow of water throughout the yard. The work crew and operations supervisor were exceptional. They were hardworking, dedicated, and always willing to go the extra mile. Not only did they execute the project with precision and professionalism, but they had great suggestions that added beauty and functionality. We were so pleased with their work that we asked them to do an additional small project – which turned out beautifully as expected. WaterWise Landscapes will be our first call for any future landscaping construction needs.

From design to install, Water Wise did an exceptional job on our front yard. It went from a water-guzzling lawn to an efficient xeriscape with drought resistant and local plants. Hunter ten Broeck also retained some elements of the pre-existing hardscape which helped save money on the project. His team of installers was professional, on time, and left the site spotless at the end of each day. They also walked us through the new irrigation system so that we can maintain our new yard. I highly recommend Water Wise for anyone considering a xeriscape conversion.

I met with Hunter Ten Broeck for a landscape related consult and he provided a professional analysis and drawing related to two french drains to drain water away from the foundation of my house. I explained to him the situation and he engaged in a helpful dialogue prior to providing the drawing and estimate. I engaged his firm for the actual work and was quite please with the meeting I had prior to commencement of the work with his assistant, Carlos, which was a planning meeting and walk through of the planned work. The workers who implemented the plan were hard working, courteous, and were willing to answer questions as the project proceeded. They were willing to dig up plants that were in the pathway of the french drain and set them aside for me to move elsewhere. Part of the project included installing a short retainage wall of moss rock and they saw to it there was careful placement of the rock. The french drains were constructed with care, from the increasing depth the further the trench went away from the house, to the lining of the trench, the filling with cobble, and the grading of gravel on top as the finished product. The cobble catches they placed under the water hydrant and two down spouts work well. I would definitely recommend WaterWise Landscapes Inc and Hunter Ten Broeck to folks considering having landscape of all types done.

Waterwise is an excellent, effective, and detailed-oriented landscaping company. We have had them do two major projects over the years (one this past year) plus a number of smaller jobs, and have always been pleased with the results. Hunter’s plans are well-thought through and attractive, he is very receptive to feedback, and Barb in the office provides great support as well. His crews are hard-working, pleasant, and always ask for our input about anything that comes up. If something comes up with the work later he is prompt about dealing with any issue. Albuquerque has a water rebate program and Hunter’s help was critical in our getting a terrific result from the program. We would definitely go to them for any landscaping matters.

Hunter designed a beautiful backyard for our house in Mariposa. He was able to design the landscaping even though our yard was narrow. The trellis will block the roof view of the neighbor below us. We had also wanted a rock fountain and 2 raised beds. In a few years our backyard will be stunning. Hunter was reliable and brought the project in on budget. We recommend him highly.

Hunter drew up a great plan for our sand hills space. The crew who implemented Hunter's plan for our back yard was fantastic. They worked efficiently and well together; they seemed to care about the project and enjoy implementing it. As our project was started in late fall, we won't see its totality until after the final plantings in the late spring. So far, though, we love how it's turned out and are excited to see the final result.

Hunter Ten Broeck and Waterwise completely relandscaped our front yard. He sat with us and created a design incorporating our desires/wishes. We went over the plan with him and it perfectly met our vision. This fall he redid the irrigation system prior to doing the initial planting. The final planting will be in the spring. I can hardly wait to see how it looks when things begin to grow and bloom this summer. He is great to work with, just the right mix of professional, friendly and artistic. His work crew was also great and a pleasure to deal with. He was careful to explain the follow-up care recommended for the different plants. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for lansdcape design and installation.

Waterwise and Hunter Ten Broeck have done excellent work. My project is large and complicated. The first half was completed this last Fall. The second half will be done this coming Spring. The man who manages all the jobs answered all my calls and questions right away and was always easy to work with. The man who managed my crew was enthusiastic about my project and fun to work with. Everyone are about doing a good job and I'm very happy about it.

Waterwise recently completed landscaping our front yard, after landscaping our backyard in 2020. This is the third design Hunter did for us. In each case, Hunter has listened closely to our ideas and desires and created a plan that, when installed, has delighted my wife and me. Hunter is clearly passionate about his craft and has a deep understanding of what works. The Waterwise installation crew were the next delight in the process. The superintendent is the key person, able to be responsible for the effort and addressing questions and concerns as they came up. Hunter did check in and would have been available if needed, but his crews and superintendent have done this many times before and the process went smoothly. Hunter stays within the capabilities of his crews and will not expand in order to pick up more market share. Therefore, there is a fairly long waiting list. I consider Waterwise as I do my trusted mechanic who gets all my work. I trust them because they have earned that trust. I know their work, from concept development to detailed design to installation to follow up, will be carefully and well done. I doubt I will have another major landscaping project but, if I did, I would want Waterwise. I am glad to recommend Waterwise.

As soon as I saw the photographs of Hunter's designs on Houzz, I knew I'd found my landscaper. He came out immediately and sent me a plan within days, incorporating every detail I'd suggested. In the middle of a pandemic famous for labor shortages and materials on back-order, Waterwise not only got the job done when they said they would, they completed my driveway pavers, retaining wall and lighting when another contractor couldn't get it done. Their installation team works as hard as any I've ever used and they care about getting the details right. Now I use their monthly maintenance crew to keep my yard looking tip-top. Waterwise always has a long waiting list. Rest assured, it's worth the wait.

Highly recommended. Hunter prepared a preliminary landscaping and irrigation design based on our input, budget and the space. He accommodated our comments in the final design. His crew was professional and courteous. They implemented the design and worked with us on adjustments. We are very happy with the outcome and plan to work with them in the future.
