VMW built an extremely detailed suit of cabinets for one of my clients. As an Architect who designs very high-end work, I could not have been happier with the results!

We asked Judy and Richard for a free-standing storage cabinet for a very specific place in the great room in our home. It had to be a non-standard height because of where we wanted to put it (under a window). They worked with us to understand our requirements and then Richard created the perfect piece. It matched our existing cabinets in style but is far superior in quality of materials (local quarter-sawn oak) and workmanship. It was everything we wanted.

I was fortunate to be one of the first owners of a Morris Chair created by Virginia Mountain Custom Furniture about twelve years ago. The details on the chair are perfect, down to the mortise and tenon construction, hand-carved back pegs, and leather cushions. The hand-rubbed finish on the oak is still as silky as the day the chair arrived. I recommend this company and their products without reservation.

Richard is a true artist from the initial concept to the final product. He has a great eye and is able to find remarkable woods and turn them into amazing furniture. My husband and I continue to enjoy a cherry wood coffee table he made. Every aspect of the furniture is beautiful from the design to the final hand-rubbed finish. I owned a house in Pasadena designed by Greene & Greene. The Greene brothers designed furniture for the house, and I wanted to replicate several of the pieces, the originals of which are now in museums. Richard Weigand did a masterful job of creating exact replicas of these pieces. The furniture required very intricate joinery and significant design challenges, and Richard got it all just right. He even tracked down 100-year-old Honduras mahogany lumber to use for the project. I am more than happy with the results, and would highly recommend Richard for any fine furniture commission.

Virginia Mountain Woodworks did all the custom cabinets for our 5,000 sq ft home. Our builder had suggested them and their price was excellent and their work was excellent but they are even better people. The quality and craftsmanship was everything we hoped for and more.
