I've been wanting to rip up the carpet on the 1st floor of my townhouse for years now and was ecstatic when I found Felicia of Ekhaya Designs here on Houzz. Felicia is very personable as well as professional. She presented the quote, did the job in the timeframe quoted and did a fabulous job. I LOVE my new floors. While I am a bit of a perfectionist, I haven't had any issues with the inconsistencies that come with this type of flooring; I have learned to look at it as "character". The concrete floors give my home a condo/loft like feel that I love. I couldn't be happier with the outcome and would definitely refer Ekhaya Designs to anyone looking for this type of service. I hired to stain concrete floors in a 1,000 s.f. condo. The carpet had already been removed. They repaired where needed and used a stain for concrete. I chose the color. there were about 10 colors to choose from for this project. The work was great. It looked as expected if not better. This is not a "look" for a perfectionist but I personally love the way it turned out. Very cool alternative to having to put new floors in. The price was very fair and straight forward. Much less expensive then new floors. They were very quick on delivering the service and answering questions. I would highly recommend this company.

Ekhaya Designs (Felicia) was initially hired to stain the floor of my new store which is under construction. Another sub-contractor was hired to pour a concrete overlay. Felicia promptly arrived ready to work and was left alone in the building to carry on her work. She called shortly afterward to notify me of problems with the concrete overlay. It had been applied incorrectly and was not sticking to floor. This was the beginning of a huge ordeal that caused an almost two week delay in all construction and had a snowball effect on the opening of my store. Through it all Felicia was highly responsive and made herself readily accessible to me and my general contractor. she made multiple trips to the location believing she would get to complete her job, even after normal hours, only to find that she couldn't because the concrete sub-contractor still had not followed through on his committment. Through it all Felicia was supportive, respectful and professional in her opinions and suggestions. I was stunned at the absolute opposite work ethic I was experiencing between two different sub-contractors. I was seeing the worst and the best. When it was apparent the concrete sub-contractor was not going to fix his work I hired Felicia to do the additional work - "undo" bad work, start from scratch, and deliver a beautifully stained concrete floor. Felicia displayed a high regard for her company's reputation, she was flexible, and focused on solving the problems. I highly recommend Ekhaya Designs and have already had a colleague come by the store to see the exceptional work provided by Ekhaya Designs. I am truly grateful to Felicia!

We hired Ekhaya Designs to expand our so small patio slab. They did a marvelous job. They finished the project in a timely manner. Now we have a huge patio that our family and friends can comfortably lounge in the backyard without filling like we are on top of each other. Our neighbors absolutely love our patio slab.
