Urban Cottage Industries Ltd From 2007 the Historic Lighting Company pioneered the industrial lighting aesthetic with light fittings salvaged from mills in the West Riding of Yorkshire. Historic Lighting led the individualised lighting trend by being the first and then largest supplier of a comprehensive range of high quality lighting components. Urban Cottage Industries Ltd was founded in 2010 to incorporate the fast-growing lighting collection and to diversify into print by rescuing the UK's largest collection of 19th & early 20th century typesetting machinery and printing presses. In 2011 UCI embarked on the redevelopment of a former trouser factory outside Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire to house its lighting and print production operations. Since 2014 UCI has been focussed on developing the Factorylux lighting and Prelogram craft print brands as products became available on the high street and from other online retailers. By 2015 UCI had quadrupled the size of its operations in Hebden Bridge. The Old Trouser Factory now houses all design, manufacturing, dispatch and support operations.
