As a colour consultant and interior decorator, Nancy has conducted thousands of colour and design consultations over the past 20 plus years. Nancy also completed her certification in the Hunter Douglas Window Fashions Professional Dealer Program which demonstrates her commitment to training and continued learning to be an expert in window fashions from the leading custom window covering manufacturer, Hunter Douglas. Nancy is also an accredited member of the Canadian Decorators’ Association (CDECA) which advocates for interior decorating excellence. She won the Gold Award in the Homestaging category in CDECA’s 2014 Decorating and Design Competition for a display show suite that she decorated in Surrey, BC. She received her Interior Decorating diploma from Mohawk College in Hamilton, Ontario while working in the decorating industry. During that time, Nancy was awarded the 3rd place prize of the North American wallpaper display contest from York Wallcoverings. She has worked at various Benjamin Moore Paint stores in Ontario and British Columbia, and also worked for 2 years in the wallpaper wholesale industry. I highly recommend Nancy and Urban Aesthetics! I hired her to help me design a suite and she completed everything from window coverings to paint colours, furniture selection to decor. She truly makes any project come together with ease! Nancy took me to product showrooms that included flooring, countertops, paint, home furnishings and decor. I did not feel overwhelmed at all as she would piece products together right before my eyes! I am so happy with everything she's designed and working with her is wonderful! Very impressed with her professional touch in everything she is involved with.

I have used Nancy DeVries of Urban Aesthetics on many decorating endeavours. She has a wonderful sense of colour and style and brings her expertise to a very personal level. I live in an old heritage home and Nancy understands the need to renovate and decorate in keeping with the character of the house but bringing in a modern feel. She first helped me choose colours for my living room and foyer and made suggestion I would never have considered. Recently she helped me with my kitchen renovation. We were not gutting the room so she was able to help me decide what should stay and what should go. I had a crisis in the midst of the reno and she was happy to drop in and put my mind at ease. She has also helped me on line. Nancy's personality puts one at ease and her knowledge and skills are exemplary. I would highly recommend her.

Nancy is an amazing design professional. I have collaborated with Nancy on several projects. Although I'm a professional home stager, I will hire out design work to Nancy. Nancy has an incredible amount of patience and common sense. and knows how to encourage clients to make the right decision when it comes to colours, hard finishes, window treatments etc. I don't hesitate in recommending my clients to Nancy as I know they will be thrilled with the results.

Colours To Call Home

Nancy and I have collaborated on several projects. Her eye for colour, detail and resolve to provide her customers with exactly the right product and look for their needs and wants is exemplary. Having witnessed an occasion when a major company was unable to provide the ordered products for several of her clients, Nancy handled the difficult situation with calm and determination. She sourced new fabrics in an extremely timely manner so as to not let her clients down - not an easy task! I thoroughly enjoy working with Nancy and would not hesitate to recommend Urban Aesthetics as your go-to decorating company.

We decided to complete the basement in our newly built home and felt a bit overwhelmed as to how to piece it together. We brought Nancy in from Urban Aesthetics to help out. The basement consists of a one bedroom + den rental suite, a media/family room and a spa-like bathroom! I literally would have been lost without Nancy. She was able to put together a look that suited our taste exactly and came up with some ideas that we would never have dreamed of. The basement is gorgeous and we were so thrilled with Nancy's knowledge and suggestions. She was very thorough, on-time and professional. She kept everything with-in or under budget and was always willing to speak directly with our contractor and other trades to make things happen. I highly recommend using Urban Aesthetics when doing any project - big or small! It made all the difference and we are so happy with the end result!

Nancy is very professional and creative. We hired her to provide a new colour palette for our home and she was able to integrate our wishes with the realities of the relatively fixed elements of the house (flooring, fireplace, open kitchen concept, etc.) to give us a new look and feel.

Urban Aesthetics provided colour consultation and window blind consultation/installation for our 1948 East Vancouver home. In both cases we were impressed with the process and outcome resulting from our consultation with Nancy Devries. Nancy succeeded in assessing our personal tastes and combining that with her professional opinion on what best suited our needs (not an easy task). As a result, we ended up with colours that are appropriate for the space that we enjoy on a daily basis. Regarding blinds, Nancy took a lot of stress away from the decision making process. She was able to quickly narrow down the seemingly endless choices of window covering options to a motorized, remotely controlled blind that really suits the room it was installed in. We are very happy with the personal, professional service that Nancy provided. Working with Nancy you quickly get a sense that the final result really matters to her!

Nancy DeVries has been my interior decorator for many years now. When we purchased our new home in 2011 it was a 50's bungalow in need of a major facelift. Nancy helped in selecting our paint colors, blinds, furniture and furniture layout. Her knowledge on items like type of paint, size of furniture and styles of blinds is extensive. The time saved us researching these types of things was huge. She was instrumental in turning our home into a place which now reflects who we are as a family, she took the time to get to know us and it shows. Nancy is always kind, friendly and extremely easy to work with. I would recommenced Nancy to anyone needing help with transforming any space big or small.
