I discovered Uncommon Projects here on Houzz, and they have just finished our kitchen. It is absolute perfection. The end to end process was flawless, from the design consult, to ongoing comms, and even finishing well under the timeframe I'd expected. I couldn't be happier. The quality is exceptional. The best investment we've ever made.

Commissioning Uncommon Projects to design the kitchen for our new apartment has unfurled into being a very positive, enjoyable and creative process. We've been in very safe hands every step of the way throughout the process, from initial discussions, site visits and survey, design and installation, their team are hugely professional. The results are far above our hopes and expectations; even though visiting their showroom and seeing 3D renders of their design for our kitchen gave us confidence, there's no substitute for seeing something of this caliber arrive in your home - we still have work ongoing in other parts of the apartment, and the kitchen is getting big thumbs up from carpenters and other trades working on site. So we have no hesitation in highly recommending their service. Thanks guys, you've given us something truly stunning.

Our new kitchen is a thing of beauty and function, and the product of a great collaboration. Alan Liz and Tom were always responsive and helped us form and modify our own ideas into the final shape. As an example, our conversation about colours went from our first rather wacky ideas, via a couple of interesting detours, to a solution that is beautifully simple and responds to the surroundings inside and outside of the house. On the same footprint as the old kitchen, we have much more storage space than before and much more accessible. The workmanship is outstanding and the project management excellent. Thank you.

We love our kitchen and joinery! Throughout the design and installation process the team were highly responsive and their attention to detail was second to none. The result is a kitchen space that feels more like a beautifully furnished and warm room, with touches like the discreet downdraught extractor adding to this feeling. Our joinery extends into our dining space and living space with a pocket door bar cupboard, floor to ceiling bookcases that create a 'library' space and media unit, creating consistency throughout the downstairs. The team carefully considered how the joinery fits into the wider style of the house and what we were trying to achieve. This made us feel comfortable choosing a relatively bold colour palette of brown/pink/green as we felt confident in their advice and suggestions. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Uncommon Projects and would certainly use them again for future projects.

We had an amazing kitchen built by Uncommon projects. We were doing a full restoration and their advice went beyond just the kitchen and they helped us to work the space we had even better. Uncommon Projects really seemed to care about our kitchen project - in a side return to a Victorian terrace. They challenged us to think differently and consistently gave us excellent advice about everything from the units, worktops, and appliances to the floor tiles and the lighting. Communication with Alan and Liz was always friendly, easy and quick. They are meticulous in their attention to detail and the work is beautiful, and they always went the extra mile - when our electrician couldn't find a part for the strip lights, Liz sent a replacement by Uber and it arrived 20 min later. Nick and the installation team were friendly, professional and always left our house clean and tidy. Overall, we are totally delighted with the result.

Uncommon Projects designed and installed our new kitchen in a side return extension. I can't recommend them highly enough throughout the process they were a joy to work with, helping us to create an amazing bespoke kitchen. Throughout the construction the team were always on hand to help with design, questions and modifications. They were even supportive and understanding when inevitably there were delays! The install team kept up the good work by being super professional and very tidy. They made what could have been a very stressful process a joy and we couldn't be happier or more proud of what they have built for us. Alan and his team achieved the seemingly impossible by giving us more work surface and an abundance of storage. Net result a great working space. Beautifully built units manufactured to a very fine tolerance to ensure that there would be minimum hiccups when doing the actual fitting. Did everything they said they would do in the anticipated project time. Don’t however expect a quick job as they like to do things properly! Great people to work with and have around the house during the installation.

I recommend Uncommon Projects to anyone looking for custom made cabinetry. We had a new kitchen and dining room completed in September 2019 and are very happy with the results. The team have an excellent concept. They have great design skills and combined their experience with listening to our requirements and tastes. The results exceeded our expecations. The quality of the work is extremely high and the materials should last for a long time, being solid and robust. The team are meticulous in their work, both when installing and in resolving any issues or snags. Every little detail gets their attention. They also communicate well and manage the project well, working alongside our builders, electricians, plumbers etc.

This is our second project with Uncommon. An absolute delight and a triumph. We could not recommend Uncommon Projects highly enough. They transformed our kitchen from a cramped, uninspiring space into a beautiful and highly functional joy. We wanted a kitchen company who would challenge us to think differently about the space, rather than just replace the cupboards in the same arrangement and that’s exactly what we got. They listened to what we wanted, while offering their expertise on how best to use the space and on the design. When they thought we were making the wrong decision on colours, they took the time to help us rethink and explain why something else might be better while respecting our views. From having no space in our cupboards we now have room to spare - the Bora hob with in-built extractor fan is a revelation! You do have to sort any building work separately, something which was a little daunting having never undertaken this kind of project before - but the team were always on hand to offer advice and reassurance. Wonderful from start to finish.

"Uncommon Projects" have created 2 standing cabinets and 2 bookshelves for our house. The designer team was really helpful and listened to all our requirements, suggesting improvements where needed. The fitting team was equally professional and courteous. The pieces look fantastic with a great finish! We are now thinking of adding a sideboard to our "Uncommon Projects" little family!

We had a great experience on all fronts working with Uncommon Projects, they had great design ideas but also listened carefully to our needs and concerns at all stages, they kept to their deadlines and Liz in particular was extremely well organised which helped us get through the building works and the installation with as little stress as we could expect. Uncommon Projects designed and delivered us a fantastic kitchen, which we're absolutely delighted with. Right from the first meeting with Alan, we felt as if we were in the hands of true professionals. The care taken to help us choose the right layout/design was second to none, and Alan's advice at every stage helped us refine our thinking not just on the units, but on other elements of the kitchen such as flooring & lighting. We couldn't be happier with our Uncommon Projects kitchen. During the design process, Alan worked hard to help us make the most of what was an awkward space. We now have a brilliant U-shaped kitchen that somehow manages to incorporate a washer, dryer, hob, oven, dishwasher, larder, sink, fridge freezer, shelves and plenty of cupboard space. He also advised us on a great, simple colour scheme that compliments our cork floor and style of house. It looks dead lush. After that, the installation was one of the best we have ever experienced. Uncommon Projects fitters were very precise, making sure everything fitted perfectly and were generally lovely to have in the house. The finish of the kitchen and installation is excellent. It's our favourite room in the house.

Uncommon projects created a really unique shelving unit for our living space, and a matching tv unit. The craftsmanship is of the highest standard, with exceptional attention to detail. They listened to our needs, and helped us to achieve what we wanted. We are very happy with the results.

Uncommon Project delivered us with an award winning kitchen at our Jackson Road project that exceed our clients expectation and if we are honest, our expectation too. Alan and James are passionate about detail and work out exactly how everything will be constructed right at the beginning of the process. Their joinery is truly bespoke, made to measure, no fillers, additional end panels, awkward gaps. Joinery at this level of quality is prohibitively expensive in most cases, but Uncommon Projects offer amazing value, with exceptional service.

Uncommon Projects designed and crafted a beautiful new kitchen for the renovation of our new home in SE London. We had some predetermined ideas of how we might use the space, but they challenged us and brought really thoughtful ideas and as a result, created both a wonderful kitchen and great space for us. We hired Uncommon Projects to design and install a new kitchen as well as some in-built bookshelves for our living room. The room is not square and posed a challenge to any kitchen installation. Our experience of UP, from start to finish, was positive. They visited before the old kitchen was removed and helped us re-imagine the space and use it in a much more effective way. There was a great level of communication throughout the design process and we felt confident and reassured working with such brilliant professionals. They never compromised on the quality of their product and finish, working tirelessly and creatively to address the idiosyncrasies of the room. We will certainly be looking forward to working with Alan, James and the team again in the future - once we've had some time to enjoy their work in this home.

Uncommon projects completed two kitchens and a bedroom frame/wardrobe for us and we were very pleased with the standard of work from start to finish. I will definitely be looking to work with them again in the future.

Uncommon delivered several aspects of our extension and refurbishment on our 2 bed Victorian terrace. This included a new kitchen, cupboards and a bar in the same room, living room storage units with a concealed/fold-out computer desk, and storage units within the bathroom that house the boiler, washing machine and tumble dryer. In an otherwise stressful project, working with Uncommon was a real pleasure and we are thrilled with the finished results. During the planning stage Alan totally understood what we wanted. In areas where we had specific requests these details were included, usually having been improved substantially over our original idea. In other areas we needed advice on what might work well and here we really valued Alan's expertise and guidance. The solutions he came up with were clever, attractive and functional. Uncommon coordinated with our builders and architects to overcome several challenging problems, e.g. plumbing, electrics and heating system components within the cupboards they installed. The installation team was charming, clean and tidy and took immense care during the build, and the project was finished on time. The aftercare has been fantastic, any issues were quickly rectified and a few new requests we made were no problem. Overall the parts of our refurbishment that Uncommon designed are some of the bits that brings us the most pleasure, and are usually what people comment on when they visit. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Uncommon and am very grateful to them.

I cannot recommend Uncommon Project highly enough and would absolutely love to employ them again either in my current home or next. I live in a converted factory. They designed, built and installed a brilliant set of stairs with ingenious built in storage and wardrobes; a wall of cupboards, bookcase and shelves and a big chest of drawers. The quality of the workmanship and materials is superb, each item is beautiful, unique and works perfectly. My flat looks so much better but it is also a much easier and happier place to live with the amount of storage I have probably quadrupled. They are not the cheapest but I always felt it was great value for money. Its not just the stuff they make but the whole service that is great. Alan's background as an architect means he got tremendous vision about how every space can be used - I ended up with much more than I'd thought possible. They're very flexible and the whole install process was easy, clean and surprisingly quick. They gave me loads of control over designs, layout, wood and colours with a helping hand whenever I needed it. Add that to Alan and his team's huge passion for and expertise in working with wood and they're such a treat to work with. Everyone who comes to my place says something positive about the Uncommon Projects furniture and wants to know who did it. If you're thinking about working with Uncommon Project, I'd say go for it, you'll be very happy.

Uncommon Projects custom-made plywood shelving and cupboards to store/display vinyl records, whilst incorporating a media unit for turntable, TV etc. The process was thoroughly enjoyable from start to finish. I loved sitting-down with the extremely talented Alan Drumm and working through the designs over several iterations. Requirements would change as the design evolved, and Alan was brilliant at incorporating these tweaks into the plans. Nothing was too much trouble. The site survey was equally amazing. The project team laser-mapped the room, as the design was purpose-built to fit in the space between two chimney breasts and then wraparound a decommissioned fireplace. Amazingly the painstaking efforts at this stage managed to compensate for the sloping floor and uneven, bulging Victorian brickwork, such that everything in the finished product was level to within a fraction of a millimetre. The installation was quick and completely hassle-free, with the pieces being pre-cut to order and finished and assembled onsite, thus causing the minimum of disruption. The room was cleaner and tidier once they'd finished the job that it was before they started! I cannot recommend Uncommon Projects highly enough. They did an amazing job, and I couldn't be more happy with the end result.

From the start of our meetings with Alan Drumm of Uncommon Projects we knew we were going to get an excellent kitchen. Alan listened to what we wanted and made really useful suggestions, not only about the custom kitchen that they would be installing but also about other fittings, including the taps and sinks and lighting. I continue to be impressed by the quality of the kitchen fittings - the colours and finishes are beautiful and impactful and really add to the atmosphere of the house but the quality of the craftsmanship and the solidity of the units are a complete joy. It's built to last.

As requested we have an overall design that respects the architectural integrity of the building and in what is a small area we now have both more space and storage.
