Anthony “Tony” Pourhassan was inspired to build things from a very young age. As a small boy growing up in Montgomery, Alabama – Tony would spend his spare time taking things apart and putting them back together again. By the age of six, he began woodworking and proudly presented a neighbor with his very first birdhouse. Tony’s father, a builder and master renovator, served as an inspiration to the young boy. He allowed his son to dig ditches, clean up around job sites and watch a house being built from the ground up. By the time he took shop class at Capital Hills Jr. High School, Tony already knew what he wanted to do with the rest of his life. Tony went on to receive his Bachelors Degree of Science in Architecture, with a minor in Structural Engineering from Auburn University – and he’s been building houses, a successful career, and a solid reputation ever since. Today, Tony is a highly achieved business executive with expertise in land development, residential and commercial construction, project management, strategic land planning and multi-site supervision. As head of his own special family since 1988, Tony dreamed of one day starting his own company and building unique living environments for other equally special families. He understood that many historic events occur among the clang and clatter of pots and pans in the family kitchen, that many stories are read in the quiet serenity of an upstairs bedroom, that many report cards are revealed through lively discussions around the dining room table, and many happy holidays transpire within the walls of the family living room. Memories are made in every nook and cranny of a home – it’s the backdrop of family life – why not make it as distinctive and individual as the family who lives there? After owning his own renovation company and working for both regional and national homebuilders for twenty years – in 2005, Tony launched Vesmont, LC to focus on land acquisition & development and Highlight Homes, LLC to bring something entirely new to the Atlanta residential construction market. In 2009, Tony debuted Highlight Home Renovations. To date, Tony has built more than 800 Single Family Homes and more than 200 Townhomes across 20 subdivisions in the great state of Georgia. He’s been instrumental in the development of 12 communities, with three more exciting subdivisions in the works. He has taken steps to streamline his industry by successfully implementing cost code accounting to accurately track construction & development costs, spearheading green building & development programs, and assembling countless talented teams to take projects from concept to successful completion. Tony is also no stranger to working with public officials, lawyers, residents & engineers to rezone property, acquiring & assembling due diligence materials to secure equity investors and bank loans for company projects, and partnering with local schools, charities & civic organizations to raise money or donate labor & materials to give back to the community. He is a Certified Professional Home Builder and is a member of the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association, the National Association of Home Builders, the National Association of General Contractors and the US Green Building Council. Tony has received countless awards for his designs. Tony truly LOVES what he does for a living – renovating homes, building homes, acquiring land and developing land into neighborhoods with great amenities and beautiful homes. He has a knack for envisioning “what could be” in what may seem to be the most mundane of properties to the untrained eye. He is wholly concerned with conserving the Earth’s natural resources, and has been recognized for his earth-friendly home designs and thoughtful use of Green Space. In his spare time, Tony enjoys fishing, woodworking, water sports, travelling, staying fit and spending time with his family (the highlight of his life).
