Founded by designers Patrice Rios and Patrick Lavery, Troo Designs Kitchens, Baths, Interiors is an Austin based design studio. Patrice Nichole (Rios), with a stellar 15-year career, is celebrated for her expertise in combining interiors and cabinetry design. Her educational background at the University of Detroit - Mercy provided the foundation for her remarkable career in architectural design. Her journey took an international turn as she ventured into crafting luxury hotels in Shanghai, where not only did she experience significant creative growth but also developed a profound appreciation for hospitality design. The exposure to diverse cultures and design philosophies during her time abroad became a driving force for Patrice Nichole’s future endeavors. I own a glass company and work with Patrice all the time. It’s always great to work with a designer that has a lot of knowledge in construction and design. Highly recommend using Troo design.

We did a major renovation of our Austin home. Floors throughout, kitchen, master bathroom, office, light fixtures and new furniture. Patrice and her team were with us from planning to completion. They provided a amazing experience throughout the entire process. Their relationships with the vendors they work with made the process smooth. It was worth every penny to have them on board throughout the course of the project as Patrice managed the details from design to implementation. We are very happy with the finishes selected and the new cabinetry from Troo Designs. Patrice is professional and has a great eye. I love her taste and everything is exactly my style too. She even pushed me (in a nice way of course) on a few design choices rather than going with the expected, and I am very grateful for her guidance there. We are very pleased and hope to work with Troo Designs again.

Patrick did a complete re-imaging of our 1940s galley kitchen into a spacious modern design, yet in context with the rest of the mid-century house. The results are stunning. Pat provided tons and tons of design tips--many of them cost saving-while retaining near-photographic recall of design details when managing the contractor and vendors. 10/10 would recommend. In fact, can't imagine using any other designer on future projects.

Preparations for gutting and remodeling the master bathroom began in January. It took two-plus months to turn vague ideas and photos into more concrete ideas, then drawings, color boards and material samples. The momentum was picked up after meeting Patrice from Troo Designs who really helped me visualize the various component pieces. She provided the coherence and the launch. Patrice not only has the "eye", as the saying goes, but she can deal with budgeting, timelines, purchases, deliveries, adjustments, replacements, in short, all the nitty-gritty, surprising headaches that pop up in tiresome ways. All this needs to be looked at within the context of the pandemic that shut us down a week after demolition. I consider myself most fortunate that Patrice as well as everyone working with us were calm, professional, caring and flexible. I not only survived the roller-coaster ride but came away with a beautiful soothing space that I've looked forward to for years.
Troo Designs is responsible and resourceful. Patrice came to the site to inspect the progress, helped to tackle the crews' problems and was there till the whole project was completed.

Our Contractor Audino Construction had us reach out to Troo Design/Patrick Lavery who worked with us on a Kitchen remodel.
This project started prior and though Covid.
This transformation of a Kitchen is nothing short of Amazing. We removed 2 walls and raised the ceiling. From Lighting to fixtures and cabinets everything Patrick recommended was perfection! Coming from a Culinary background let me just say nothing was missed.
The design of the space is simply spectacular. We didn't get a new Kitchen we got a new Home
Would love to share photo's and more details to anyone interested

As a boutique home builder, it’s imperative we deliver a high quality product for our buyers. Troo Design not only enables us to offer custom cabinetry, but they offer a myriad of design and price points for all of our project needs. We’ve been working directly with Manual for the past year and I would not hesitate to recommend him or Troo Design. Not only is he extremely personable, but he’s thoughtful and always willing to step in, offer advice and help remedy to many of the challenges you come up against as home builders - or homeowners. Time and time again, Manual has gone the extra mile for us and has become someone we can rely on.
He’s honest with a pulse on trends, aesthetics and design. The next home we build will most likely be a personal home for our family here in Austin - our cabinetry will be sourced with Troo Design.

We first learned of Troo Designs from a builder we were considering, who recommended Troo for our cabinetry. We contacted them & met with Manuel at their showroom on Mueller & loved the Cabico product quality, design & color options, & especially the design drawings that Manuel created showing what the final project outcome would look like, which eliminated the guess work of having to visualize it. Manuel was extremely nice to work with. We also met Patrice while we were there who we eventually hired as our designer for the entire house remodel project. Patrice was incredible from start to finish, & we loved her design concepts & style. It all came together so well & we're extremely happy with both Patrice's house remodel design work, as well as Manuel's cabinetry design. The only issue we had was the amount of time it took to get the cabinets shipped, since they are made in Canada, so leave yourself at least a few weeks to get your cabinets built & delivered. All in all, I'd recommend Troo designs, both for design & cabinetry. While we had some frustrations with cabinet lead time & installation timeframe, they stayed with us all the way until the end to make sure the project turned out perfect, which it did! We're absolutely thrilled with our new home!

We embarked on a fairly extensive remodel of our home and were completely overwhelmed. Fortunately for us, our general contractor recommended we work with Troo Designs for all of the cabinetry. Patrice from Troo Designs helped us throughout the entire process, which included layout, design, and even shopping for fixtures and hardware. They kept in constant contact with us and stopped by the job site regularly, which really helped put us at ease. Without going into all of the sorted details our general contractor really let us down. This is when Troo Designs really stepped up. They offered advice on how to proceed on our own, recommended some excellent subcontractors, and even stepped in to help us complete our remodel when we weren’t available to be home to meet some of the installers. I can’t say enough great things about Patrice. I’d definitely recommend working with Troo Designs.

We hired Troo Designs to assist us in coordinating and designing for a major kitchen remodel in a 1970's single story home. We had many ideas of the design and layout but Troo helped us put those ideas to blueprints. I am a big DIYer and perfectionist when it comes to home projects, usually I like to tackle things on my own. However, I'll admit we needed some help with the layout, measurements, planning, and putting all this all down on paper so I can reference it when installing myself. We did not use Troo for any laborious/construction work, only for design, planning, and ordering of cabinets and countertops. Patrice and Logan have a lot of experience with this stuff and their opinions/guidance was extremely helpful. Troo Designs is also very well connected in the construction industry. They referred us to a structural engineer to get plans for removing a load bearing and helped order our cabinets, and countertops. They are also very mindful of your budget. I highly recommend this business!

I was supremely happy with Troo Designs help in renovating the Kitchen Area of my rental properties. I much appreciated their straight-forward manner and approach, as well as their clear communication from our initial consultation through this project's completion. Since the very first day my husband and I met Patrice we knew she was the designer for our new custom home! She is a great listener, very creative, has great product knowledge, and is extremely talented! She was able to extract my many ideas and bring them to life. Patrice will give you her honest opinion and lead you in the right direction to find your perfect design and be very mindful of your budget. I absolutely love everything we designed together especially my Cambria counter tops!
Manuel was one of the very few project managers that showed great integrity, was honest, and insured that our project came to a successful completion! He handled all aspects of our project with ease, knowledge, and professionalism. If an issue arose he was quick to remedy it! He is "troo" to his word!
In the chaotic world of home building Patrice and Manuel of Troo Designs are truly a gem!

We really enjoyed working with Troo Designs. Patrice has a great interior design artistry and helped us create two unique bathroom spaces. The cabinetry was done exquisitely and installed to perfection. They provided a range of products and suppliers to help adjust to our mid-range budget level. Deadlines were met effectively. Attention to detail after the job has been given with small details needing correction. Definitely would recommend them!

One of the best experiences we have had with home renovations. Extremely professional and friendly. Great to talk through ideas and help problem solve challenges. We were consistently kept up to date on the project timelines. Quality of work was done to our highest standard. Would hire or recommend the team at Troo Designs again without hesitation.

Felix and team did a fabulous job from beginning to end on our new wine bar area. Could not be more pleased with Felix and his personal focus to ensure everything was done correctly. My wife and I are very pleased with the final product and are now doing cabinets in our living room!

Troo design is an incredible company. I met Patrice a little over 2 years ago now and she is an incredible person. Her drive to deliver exactly what I wanted allowed me to have full faith in her ideas and commitments. I started with a rustic and industrial kitchen idea, but was quickly steered into a more modern direction by Patrice and the Troo Design team. Their attention to detail inspired me to take different angles at designing my kitchen. Thank you!!!

We meet Patrice Rios a year ago. Troo design did kitchen, bath, fireplace and interior design for our new build home. Patrice is very talented, has good sense of design and she can come up with good design really quick. We were struggle with our bath and fireplace design and that is the reason that we decide to hire a designer. Patrice just gets involved and helps to resolved all design issue. She did tremendous awesome job on main room fireplace and bath room design.
We had been worked with lot of contractor and vendor throughout our build process. There are trend that we noticed is most people commitment to project is get less when is they got more payment. Her commitment to her client is excellent and persistent throughout the project. She is always being there for us from start till finish. We just move in and have house warming party when we still not done unpacking or have any new furniture. Our home was messes an hours before party and food serving table not done. Patrice and Manuel show up early and help us stage our home make it presentable to our guest. They did it in less than an hour with what we have. They make our place look like house in the magazine.

We met Patrice at her store front on a Saturday morning. Right from the start it was comfortable to talk to her. From there we had a meeting at our home so she could see our space. While she was at our home, we talked about all the things we disliked about the current space. She really heard us and came back with designs that were bug on.
Patrice is the ultimate professional and learned beyond her years.She has a vision and a wonderful way to communicate. She is available when needed, and was with us to pick out tiles and faucets and via email for lights and door handles, not to mention answering the million questions we had.
We are thrilled with our bathroom and all guests to our home get the tour! We even purchased new bedroom furniture to because I didn't want our guests to go through an older bedroom to see our spectacular bathroom. Just calling it a bathroom doesn't do it justice!
Patrice and Manuel (owner) were respectful of our budget and worked with us to make sure we stayed within it.
When issues arose (as they always do) i felt both Patrice and Manuel dealt with them the way they needed to. I never felt slighted or wronged with them.
Love Troo Designs and will certainly have them back when we do our kitchen.

I work closely with Troo Designs frequently and ongoing on many different levels. As their real estate agent, I am blessed to participate with a group that I love like family.
They are true professionals with amazing attention to details. They will adopt your dream and pursue it as if it were there own.
Patrice is extremely sharp and her follow up is what you'd hope for. She has a talent for adding value through her extensive product and design knowledge.
If you have not visited their showroom at Mueller in Austin, I encourage you to do so.
Over the years, I've worked with several clients who have a passion for what they do, but I can say that working with Troo is exceptional on a whole other level.
I refer them often and always get great feedback from those I connect them with.
I give them my highest recommendation.

After remodeling our kitchen 3 years ago with a general contractor, cabinet company and ourselves to do all the selections, i.e., coordinating flooring, cabinets and granite selections; when we decided to do our master bath, we chose a designer to do the work for us. Our contractor had worked with Patrice Rios of Troo Designs before and we talked with her and decided she would be a great choice for our bath remodel. She and her associates did a wonderful total remodel of our master bathroom (pictures on this website) and also an upstairs full bath. She added wonderful touches to the master bath that we would never have thought of. Everything she selected, from the floor tile to the lighting was perfect. She listened to us when we told her what we wanted in the bath and came up with a great color palette from which to work. She had options that we could choose from, but not too many as to be overwhelming. We're totally thrilled with our bathrooms and the master is not only very attractive, but also functional as well. The bathroom feels much larger than it did before, and we love that. Patrice is a total professional as are all the people who work with her and we always felt totally confident that we were going to have a great outcome, and we did!

Thanks to everyone from Troo Design, we finally have the home we've always wanted. Patrice and her team were able to transform a very dated 1968 ranch-style home into a functional, modern and beautiful space. After only a brief meeting, she understood our vision and implemented it with patience, professionalism and creativity. One of our goals was to incorporate our backyard views into the design and they executed it flawlessly by making it the focus of our home. Our kitchen is now a creative space that flows into an open and airy dining room and into a living area that is modern yet warm. It is the perfect space for entertaining friends and family, and we cannot be grateful enough. Thank you, Patrice, Manuel and Troo Design!

We have our Dream Kitchen thanks to Designer Patrice Rios! We LOVE LOVE LOVE our new kitchen . . . it is so much fun to entertain in, cook in and live in. Patrice is an amazing designer, particularly with, but not limited to kitchens. She has many talents including a fabulous sense of style, design, uniqueness and is able to bring everything together beautifully!
Patrice was the designer for our total kitchen remodel starting with gutting a small 1976 galley kitchen, moving the kitchen for a lake view, removing walls, vaulting the ceiling, adding a large island and opening it up to the living room complete with adding a new walk-in pantry, new closet and floor. Patrice helped us with EVERYTHING . . . the design, blending of textures, the selection of cabinets, paint, granite, hardware, sink, back splash and grout, range hood design, lighting, island design, appliances and many other design elements. She gives me great confidence in my ideas and selections so I am not second quessing myself. She has an extensive team of resources to refer us to for cabinet makers, installers, granite, contractors, lighting, installers, appliances, carpet, furniture etc. Patrice offered many innovative ideas that made our kitchen unique, matched our lifestyle and blended with the style of our home. In fact, we have received many compliments "that our new kitchen looks like it has always been there!" Goal accomplished!
We have continued to use Patrice for coordinating color schemes, landscape design, redesigning our fireplace wall and front entrance.
Patrice Rios is an eXtraordinary designer. . . a total package and we highly recommend her! Plus she is lots of fun to work with!

We did a complete first floor remodel for a new client which included an entirely new kitchen and dining room space. I worked very closely with Patrick on this job. His knowledge of not only cabinets and cabinet design, but his expertise of the entire construction process as a whole, was outstanding. Patrick worked with us and the clients from the very beginning to help produce a beautifully finished project.
The process Patrick took us through to get us a quality product was extremely thorough. He followed up regularly and made everyone on the project feel very comfortable and went out of his way to make this a successful project. The entire Troo Design team, from designers to carpenters, are excellent at their craft. Everyone I worked with from this team had a very positive attitude. This project required a lot of flexibility from everyone involved and Troo Design stepped up to the plate to accommodate our tight schedule.
I could not recommend the Troo Design team more highly and am eager to work with them again on future projects.

We LOVE our hickory cabinets in the kitchen/bar area and the painted cabinets in both bathrooms!! The excellent service provided by Troo Designs made the entire remodel very pleasant. We met with Patrick multiple times - he was always accommodating and drove out to our house many miles away from their business to confer/discuss/make changes - whatever we needed. We were struggling with cabinet stain/paint choices, and Patrick's the one who showed us the hickory and we loved it immediately. Patrice met us to review tile/wood flooring choices to compliment the cabinets and she was always friendly, informative, and helpful. We worked together with Patrick on the design and once the cabinets were ready for installation Manuel was there to oversee. He, too, was always quick to respond to questions/concerns and the installation went as smoothly as I imagine it could. Kirk and his install crew were professional, detail-oriented, and they were a pleasure to have in our home. I can't say enough about the overall excellent quality of Troo Designs. Communication is critical during a remodel and they were never more than minutes away from responding, helping, and encouraging. I would highly recommend them!

I used Troo Designs to remodel my kitchen. I remodeled EVERYTHING in the kitchen. I could not be more pleased with the results. The cabinets are beautiful, the countertops are gorgeous. The remodel process was messy but they did it in a timely manner and were very professional. They showed up when they said they would. I worked with Patrice Rios from Troo Designs. Patrice was so helpful and so organized. She had some wonderful ideas for the kitchen and I was very impressed. She suggested some special corner cabinets that I just love. I would HIGHLY recommend Troo Designs for anyone planning a remodel.

I had the pleasure of working with Patrice on an entire home design project. Her ideas were fantastic! I hadn't even thought about the directions that she had suggested and in the end we created a hugely impactful design together. Very impressive designer. Will always have her at the top of my list.

Troo Designs is wonderful! They did an outstanding job choosing and designing the tile backsplash in my kitchen. We also had our entire flooring redone by Troo Design and the gorgeous wood floors their top design professional had installed added so much value to our home. Troo Design is the best professional design store in Austin Texas!
