Tom and his team have designed and built a media wall, wall to wall bookshelves and a desk in our snug, full wall of fitted wardrobes in our bedroom and a floor to (high) ceiling artistic shelving in our family room. Tom Maxwell Cabinetry is the highest quality, he and his team are a pleasure to work with, the furniture is all of the highest standard, his process is really thorough and easy to navigate and their work has transformed our home. Tom and his team created a media wall for our lounge. From the design stage through to the build we have been really impressed by the outstanding professionalism and quality, both of the workmanship and materials selected. Tom and Stonehouse Fireplaces worked closely together to ensure the selected fire integrated beautifully into the wall. It was a pleasure doing business with both and we would 100% recommend them for further work.

We had excellent service throughout. Tom advised us and ensured we made the right choices. We needed to change the layout of one side of our kitchen but were happy with the other three sides which had good quality units. Unfortunately these were no longer in production so we gave Tom the challenge of producing the new units to match the existing ones as closely as possible. He did a brilliant job. Friends and family have also been most impressed by the results. The quality of the work and attention to detail was superb. Both Tom and Ed, his workshop manager, are perfectionists. Ed, who did the installation, clearly has a passion for his work and enjoyed the challenge. He and his assistants were incredibly hard working, considerate and a pleasure to have in our home. Tom also has contacts he can call in for other skills as needed and at short notice if unexpected problems arise. Those involved with our project also did excellent work. Though the price might seem a little high it was not vastly more than the good quality ready made units we had looked at but which wouldn’t have matched. The extra was well worth the cost, having the advantage of making maximum use of the available space with individually made units. We highly recommend the company, especially for any non-standard work.

Dear Tom, Just to say how delighted we are with the cabinets either side of the media wall. They look amazing! You completed my vision and you made it an easy process from start to finish. I particularly liked that I was informed at every stage of the process and although I made several changes before the final sign off, nothing was too much trouble. Ed and Jason who fitted the cabinets are meticulous, they took great care, a real credit to the company. They appreciated that I am an exacting client, but I don’t think it would have made any difference whether I am or not, their workmanship is second to none and I’m sure that they apply the same high standards in every installation. Both are very courteous, clean and tidy and turned up on time. We couldn’t be happier; you will definitely be our first port of call for a future project and we have no hesitation in highly recommending your services to prospective clients. We did a lot of research prior to choosing to work with Tom Maxwell and his team as we wanted something high end and bespoke for two rooms in our house. We definitely made the right decision - Tom is extremely passionate, precise, helpful and a real expert. From the initial telephone conversation through to the workshop visit and design process, he was patient, came up with lots of suggestions and ideas and gave us confidence we would be getting two super pieces of fitted shelving furniture. We loved the portal as a way of seeing the designs, tracking progress and getting real visibility on the cost of the two projects. Very flexible and easy to do business with. When it came to the installation his team were equally professional, very respectful of our house and our other time commitments. All work was done with minimal disruption, exactly to timelines agreed and most importantly was of a truly excellent standard. Overall a great experience for us and we are delighted with the finished products. Would definitely recommend and will also be following up with future requests for work. I have used Tom Maxwell now for three significant projects over the past 12 months, a custom built 4.5 meter gin cabinet, a customer built 3.5 meter bar and a matching fully racked wine room. All three projects were created, constructed and delivered to the highest possible standards. I found their organization reliable and they lived up to all their promises along the journey, it was a delight to work with them. The quality of their work and the materials used was of the highest standards, these projects weren't cheap but then traditional craftsmen's workmanship and excellent quality doesn't come cheap. I would have no hesitation in recommending Tom Maxwell if you are looking for a unique piece of furniture or a special project completing.

Truly excellent service with incredible craftsmanship and attention to detail. Tom & the team fitted a built-in desk with drawers and a cupboard unit. The design process was slick, with excellent communication via the customer portal, the price, drawings etc. were all visible and amended and they graciously updated the drawings multiples times after I changed my mind. The real point however is the quality of the finish, the fittings are excellent, the materials are spot on, and the care and attention to detail by the team throughout was exemplary - even down to profiling the various section to fit the curve of the walls. Highly highly recommended!

We has a wardrobe designed and fitted in a tricky space in our bedroom. The quality of the work done was excellent. The design was exactly what we needed and the materials are a perfect fit for our room. Both design and fitting were done very efficiently and we were very much involved in deciding what was right for us. A special mention should be made of the two team members who did the fitting. They were prompt, very tidy and respectful. We are very pleased with the whole experience.

Tom and his colleagues built a fitted cabinet and floating shelves into a dining room alcove. Following the initial enquiry Tom gave us a broad range of material options and talked us through the benefits and give budget prices for each option to help us make an informed choice. We found Tom to be competitive when compared to other local suppliers, but his main appeal was the time he took to talk to us to gain an understanding of our specific requirements from the view of design as well as budget. Tom was able to work with our bespoke layout requirements and took site measurements to verify dimensions. Tom uses a web based portal that allowed us to view 3D images of the detailed design giving us an opportunity to comment at each stage so that the final design was precisely in line with our requirements. Tom's fitters were polite, clean, trustworthy and efficient. We're very pleased with the end product and we would certainly recommend Tom to anyone else.

Tom and his team helped us design new cabinetry and desks for a large study we had taken back to new plaster. Excellent communication, (both in person and through his client portal), service and product. Definitely an eye for detail and he and his team clearly love their craft. All the cabinets were made and assembled in his workshop, then fitted on site. The work was done to an excellent standard and I would definitely recommend him and his team.

We are delighted with the large unit Tom designed and made for our sitting room. I now have a home for books, photos, ornaments, and other bits and pieces all in one beautiful place - and the TV with no wires trailing! Fantastic! The whole process from design to installation was smooth and efficient, and Tom kept us updated at every stage through his website portal. The final piece is high spec and beautifully finished - and all in the colour of our choice.

Tom made a bespoke desk for my office. He listened carefully to my requirements and designed a beautiful, ergonomic desk which has created a perfect, functional space in my office. His attention to detail, both in design and installation is notable. I would recommend Tom without reservation.

Tom has gone above and beyond to create a bespoke bench and storage unit for our kitchen. Tom was patient with us throughout the process, despite all our adjustments and changes, instead he reassured us there to take our time and that it was necessary to get the right design. We never felt rushed to make decisions and Tom gave us honest advice to ensure we got the best design we could. Tom visited us a number of times at home to go through designs, wood styles etc which was brilliant and we really felt the benefit of having in person discussions. Tom was meticulous at ensuring the design matched the rest of our kitchen. Tom has just completed a couple of jobs for us and we couldn’t be more delighted. The first one was to install a media unit in our family room in an attempt to hide the boys PS4, wires, game boxes, remote controls etc etc. Tom took time to listen to my brief, to design something that would fit into the style of the room and be practical for our needs. The result is fantastic and makes a huge difference to the room. The second and third projects were to build and fit wardrobes and shelving into the master bedroom and spare room. Again, Tom listened to our requirements and took time to work with me to design the space. It has transformed the rooms and the work have been finished to a very high standard. I would not hesitate to use Tom again and have already recommended him to friends.

From the conception of the idea and our rough drawings Tom has carried out all the details we wanted with a 1st class attitude to our requirements, especially his detailed drawing and his Portal details. The finish and materials for our Bookcase are excellent,the colour is exactly what was required. The installation which was carried out by Ryan was faultless as were his attention to detail. Tom Maxwell designed and fitted our kitchen last summer. With minimal direction he created a lovely result, with grey-coloured units and earthy yellow tiles. The outcome is both visually beautiful and very functional. The craft of the units is excellent; the drawers run very smoothly and the doors fit perfectly. I would fully recommend Tom and his team.

As an interior design practice we needed a company to produce a very high end product for our client. When we first approached Tom we quickly became aware that he understood our need for a quality product and the way he enthused about his craft gave us the confidence to continue working with him. We had detailed drawings and a strong idea of how we wanted our dressing room project to look however Tom still brought extra detail to the project which came from experience and the desire to give us the best finish. The final result, a complicated dressing room in walnut with all doors and panels matching, was a joy. We were delighted with the care, quality and skills incorporated. Tom is skilled, knowledgeable, and has the experience to be able to advise in a proactive and positive way. I’m so glad we found him and his team. We will be back.

Tom Maxwell has recently made me a beautiful slatted oak bed and a fabulous glass topped oak coffee table I couldn't be more pleased with both items, they are of exceptional quality, the craftsmanship is next to none, he got them made for me in the time he quoted which is a bonus, he is an amazing craftsman I would highly recommend him to anyone who wants a first class job doing. He is also a lovely man who is very approachable and listens to what you say and works with you to create exactly what you want. We are utterly delighted with fitted wardrobes Tom and his team built for us. The design was carefully thought through to complement the look and feel of the (Victorian) house. Tom was able to fully accommodate the constraints of the building (eg concealing pipework) and to collaborate with our bathroom fitter to ensure a beautiful and neat finish from the front and the rear of the wardrobe. We love the craftsmanship that has gone into making the wardrobe, as well as the clean and spacious feel and lovely finish. Tom and his team were extremely professional throughout, totally “got” our brief and were nice to have in the house. I will look to use Tom for future projects and would have no hesitation in recommending him to friends undertaking similar work.

Tom is amazing. Comes with ideas and advice. The quality of his work is exceptional and is always happy to help. He takes time and care and is a perfectionist. My favourite piece of furniture is the cabinet that Tom made. It was just what we wanted. I couldn’t recommend him enough.

Tom turned one of our living rooms into a library by building extensive floor-to-ceiling bookcases along one large wall and two substantial alcoves. We cannot fault his work. The service has been impeccable from start to finish. Tom has not missed any details in either the planning, the building or the installation. He has made many practical suggestions that we have not thought of ourselves, making the end result more beautiful and easy to use. He accounted for our lifestyle and our needs carefully in his plans to create a product that we ultimately will be able to use comfortably for many many years to come. Tom was also very good at resolving any problematic aspects of the building. He was entirely transparent with his pricing. We had detailed discussions of the costs of various parts of the library, he helped us identify cheaper options and stay within our budget. The building itself was a clean process where pre-assembled bookcases were delivered and installed in a relatively short time. The end result is a beautiful library that fits very well with the overall spirit of our house and where our books, records and music equipment can live very comfortably. It was a pleasure to work with Tom.

I am sooo thrilled with my kitchen island which Tom made for me. He turned my childlike picture of what I wanted in to a masterpiece. It was a joy to work with Tom and I have huge respect for his talent.

Tom has made some doors for my upper kitchen cabinets and did a wonderful job, after having lots of issues with other kitchen joiners it was so refreshing to find somebody with great attention to details and able to providebexactly what I wanted. Tom built us some shelving and alcove cupboards. Beautiful job, expertly finished in North American Walnut and birch. On time on budget. He spent time talking it through with us and measuring accurately then prepared the work offsite at his workshop so only needed to be in the house for the minimum time to assemble the work. We discussed the project with Tom and he went away and came back with a plan supported by images. We then fine tuned the ideas and a price was agreed and the project was given the go ahead. We have both been extremely pleased with the final results and were impressed by the patience both Tom and Adrian had when they came across paint problems in the final stages which they both solved with a professional resolve. My wife and I asked Tom Maxwell to replace a built-in wardrobe and include a bookcase to the side of it as an integral feature. From our first meeting with him we were most impressed by his interest, enthusiasm, knowledge and advice. With his help we arrived at an initial design and then he suggested we consider that and review it at leisure. He provided us with detailed drawings with the full specifications and a price. After consideration we changed some particulars and discussed them with him and he provided revised drawings. We visited him at his workshop so that we could examine and handle the woods that we were thinking of having used for our project and Tom gave us a very full briefing on their nature and qualities. We discussed finishes and he told us what he thought would best suit our needs as we had outlined them to him. He was also very helpful in advising us on handles, fitments etc and it was a delight to work with him and share in his enthusiasm for what he did. After we had confirmed the final design he gave us a definitive price and a timescale. His execution of the project was first class. The old wardrobe was removed and the new one and its accompanying bookcase were installed with a minimum of fuss and disruption and we are absolutely delighted with the result and feel proud to own such a lovely and unique piece of furniture. We look forward with pleasurable anticipation to working again with Tom and have already made a proposal to him to tackle a very difficult and complicated piece of cabinet making.
