Tobey is helping me update a newly purchased home. She is easily accessible for any questions I may have and has a wonderful eye for color and decor. She has some wonderful subs that have done a beautiful job putting in hardwood floors, window coverings, paint, kitchen countertops, etc. She is a step ahead of me in scheduling and more importantly knows what needs to be done first and in what order. I highly recommend her.

Tobey was extremely enthusiastic, punctual, and showed excellent time management skills in organizing all the separate parties for our remodel. As most remodels go, there were new challenges that popped up and Tobey handled everything like a true expert and managed to roll easily and keep things moving. She's VERY easy to work with on top of having excellent taste!

We were referred to Tobey by our realtor when looking for a color consultation for our newly purchased house. Tobey quickly understood our taste. While we were away on vacation, she and her painting team transformed our house into the warm home we wanted. We were delighted. Next, I asked her for window treatments, including Roman shades for large windows and curtains for the bedrooms. Again, she and her team provided beautiful results. When asked, she has also provided valuable input on furnishing and landscaping decisions. I wish that we had know her before we purchased our furniture --- she would have been very helpful in the selection. Although our projects have been small compared to others that Tobey designs, she always gives them her full attention. Not only is she very talented and knowledgable, she is a delight to work with.

Choosing Tobey Spitzer to design and manage my home remodel was one of the best decisions that I have ever made. She created a dream home for me that totally fits my personality and taste. She did so with none of the stress, mistakes, or regrets that can so easily complicate a major remodeling project. Tobey was hired to carpet and stage a vacant condo to prepare for sale. She is upbeat to work with, a good project manager, and worked hard to accentuate the attractive elements of the property. A pleasant experience.

Tobey provided us with some key recommendations, and identified issues to address right away. Her insights were helpful, and I was really looking forward to the details of the project. Unfortunately, I expected a level of communication, and participation that didn't work for either of us. Estimates were confusing and communication was unclear. If you're looking to turn decisions over to a designer and don't need clear details to feel comfortable, you'll have a great experience. If you push for clarity, have strong opinions about what you want, and aren't familiar with the lingo, you'll be frustrated.

Over the past ten years I have had the joy of working with Tobey as the plumber on her projects. Not only do I find her a delightful person but also extremely knowledgeable and creative in satisfying clients expectations from start to finish. She is very easy to work with, is always accessible and goes the extra mile finding solutions to the occasional quirks associated with remodeling.

My project was a BIG one. Required structural as well as cosmetic elements. Think anyone would be at least a bit apprehensive over an extensive remodel of 1885 era home. Tobey dug into my project with enthusiasm. The finished product was all Tobey. It was a big challenge, to bring a Victorian home into 21st century without losing its vintage charm. With Tobey's help I decided to split the project up into 2 chunks, executing one per year. Tobey took the time to get to know me, my habits, needs and even took considered my dog's needs. She cared for my dog during especially disruptive days. Tobey is very talented. She has innate ability to immediately size up a room and come up with creative solutions. Her taste is on target. Clean, elegant, high quality. No frou frou. Tobey knows how to work with a budget. One of my biggest fears was getting in too deep. Tobey was sensitive to my needs and made decisions consistent with my budget constraints. Because working with a designer was new to me, I required a high degree of touch. Tobey did not disappoint. She kept me informed daily, set up an alternative living space when my traditional ones were in stages of demolition. It was a leap of faith but through it all my trust in Tobey was never compromised. Tobey made my house livable. I am thrilled with the results. The before and after photos are posted on her website.

I hired Tobey the day I signed my lease for my yoga studio, Yoga NW. Tobey and her team built out the studio bottom to top, mirrors, walls, the shelving, hooks, paint colours, every detail down. Almost every clients comments on the 'look and feel' of the space, and I attribute 100% to Tobey and her team. The people she has working for her are dedicated, professional, and of the highest quality. I have also used Tobey to design and set-up two homes. She has impeccable relationships with vendors in Portland which is easy to see when she talks with them about, for example, getting a carpet picked-out. Tobey Spitzer's recommendations on how to update my West Hills Portland home were so valuable that I am very glad I worked with her. My goal was to refresh the upstairs, and after we changed carpets, paints, and furniture choices, the rooms grew into such beautiful spaces. Rooms transformed by Tobey have an "ah" value imparted by the markedly well-constructed quality materials.
