Thomas M. Keeler Restoration was founded in 1968. Starting out as a house framing contractor, the company expanded to residential and commercial-industrial construction in the 1970's and 1980's. From 1990 to the present day, the primary focus of Tom's company has been the preservation and restoration of 19th and early 20th century homes. Thomas M. Keeler is a lifelong resident of North New Jersey, who has dedicated his craft to preserving the past of the area through the restoration and preservation of 19th and early 20th century homes. He was a general contractor from 1968 to 1990, working in industrial, commercial, and residential construction. During that time, Tom also renovated many brownstones in the Upper East side of New York . Tom has over 40 years of experience as a contractor within general construction and specializing in restoration carpentry. Dedicated to his craft, he works with owners and architects to make sure that irreplaceable, historic woodwork is restored and/or recreated. His skills include historic wood window restoration and general repair of historic millwork, interior and exterior. Home owners who are committed to historic preservation rely on him to produce additions, renovations or repairs that will merge seamlessly with their existing antique buildings. Thomas M. Keeler is Fully Licensed and Insured by the State of New Jersey as a Home Improvement Contractor. Thomas is also a New Jersey State Certified Building Construction / Carpentry Instructor. He taught carpentry and building for ten years at Hudson County Vocational Schools' Adult Education Program. During that time, Tom successfully initiated a building trades program with "Project Core" in Newark, NJ. Tom takes great pride in the craft of structural and detailed restoration and preservation of 19th and early 20th century homes. He is committed to preserving the conscience of architecture and its principles as an American Carpenter.
