The Granite City

I would not recommend using this company to install your granite. We had problems from the beginning. Even though Anthony did his best to rectify all that went wrong, the stress and final product is not worth it. We ended up getting our granite out of state and getting it shipped to Granite City for the fabrication. After spending all this time to create a template for our kitchen, the granite was not cut to what was agreed upon. The two huge imperfections that we did not want in our cut out ended up being included in the final product (they cut it the way they wanted to). We noticed this after the installation and a large portion of the kitchen had to be redone (it was done within 2 weeks of the mess up). There was hardly anything left of the granite when we had to go to the second template so we ended up with a portion of the granite we did not want. Needless the say, it does not flow or match the right side as our original template would have. In addition to this, the pencil edge on the second installation does not match the rest of the granite that was installed initially (the second half of the kitchen). It was cut with a very sharp edge and actually chipped the same night of installation! Needless to say we are not happy with the results and had lots of aggravation and stress because of this. We asked Anthony to have the owner contact us regarding this, but he has not called us back (and probably never will now that they have our money). There was no compensation or offers to refund at least a portion of our money after all the problems we had to deal with. The owner obviously could care less. I was hopeful with this company because all the good reviews I saw online, but beware...the quality of work and communication between their employees is not good, resulting in problems and unwanted results.

We love our new quartz kitchen counters. They are absolutely beautiful. Everyone we worked with at The Granite City was fabulous, especially Anthony. He made the entire process painless and fun. The young man who did the measurements and the installation crew were great, too. I would highly recommend this business to anyone who wants a great selection and wonderful customer service. We will definitely be calling The Granite City when we update our two bathrooms.

I had such a pleasant and smooth experience from walking unto the showroom to installation day, everyone was very professional and courteous, we were overwhelmed with the current renovation of our home me and my husband hardly agree on anything I was dreading picking out countertops but Anthony made this as easy and pain free as possible, he is absolutely great and helped us out tremendously, the guys who came to measure and install where also very knowledgeable and we felt comfortable bringing them into our home, I will most definetly use them in the future and highly recommend this to anyone who's looking for quality product and service.

For our kitchen renovation, we knew what we wanted for our countertops. Granite City let us come down to the yard at our convenience to see their slabs. They didn't have what we were looking for, but they quickly brought up pictures online and found their suppliers who had it in stock. Within a couple days, they had emailed us pictures of specific slabs and brought in the one we chose. It was exactly what we wanted and gorgeous, and no extra charge from prices we had originally discussed. Since we did the whole kitchen ourselves, we were a few days behind schedule so Granite City worked well with us on rescheduling for our template and install dates. On the install day, the workers worked quickly and efficiently. The only issue we had throughout the process was that the small strip for behind the range was either not measured in the template, or forgotten during install, but Lou made sure to get that piece installed quickly and before collecting final payment. Overall, great experience and highly recommended! Lou, Sarah, and Mohammed are very customer service oriented.
