the DESIGN + BUILD firm's goal is to design and build your project so that you get the BUILDING YOU WANT and that it STAYS IN BUDGET. Too many times the architect designs out of budget, or the contractor doesn't follow through with the vision of what the building could be. Too many times, the architect doesn't understand how what they are designing gets built, and too many times information gets lost in translation. The DESIGN + BUILD firm has project managers who draw the building themselves and then actually build it. They know the project inside and out so that your building is constructed they way you had it designed and it's kept in budget the entire time. the DESIGN + BUILD firm was founded by Canon Manley. Canon is a licensed architect and contractor. He trained at the Georgia Institute of Technology to achieve his BS of Architecture, and spent a subsequent 3 years achieving his Masters of Architecture and Masters of City and Regional Planning. Canon saw first-hand, while working professionally, the disconnect between contractors and architects. this inspired Canon's vision to realize the traditional role of the builder. the fracturing of the discipline and its negative impacts on our built environment, towns, cities, and suburbs motivates Canon to push for a more homogenized building profession, starting with the planning of our cities and culminating in the construction of our buildings.
