The Woodshop Inc.

The following reflects my personal opinion based upon my experience. The woodshop and Randy Mitchel are horrible to work with. He has breached the contract that he signed and did not finish the work. I am going to have to sue him to recover the money he owes me. I could have done a better job general contracting myself in my opinion. I ended up doing a lot of the fixes and finishing work on my own anyway. stay away, run away, and do not ever advance him money even if he says he is going to use it for your job. The never completed the job.

The Woodshop in Schererville did a number of jobs for us this past year. I cannot say enough about their company. Not only do they do superior work, but the team of guys who DO the work are respectful, competent, professional, and just down right nice! There is even a guy named "Happy Dan", because he's just so happy and nice all the time. They built a custom entertainment center, remodeled our kitchen, built an entire custom contemporary office, put crown molding in our kitchen, and did it all when they said they would on budget and on time. I highly recommend them!

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! Randy is having cash flow problems. I would never recommend The Woodshop. He was dishonest and unethical. AVOID!!

It has been 2 years since the job was complete...I am having issues with the tiles in the kitchen. One has come loose for no apparent reason. One tile has cracked for no apparent reason. Both are not even in high traffic areas. I had to hire an electrician to re-wire outlets as we were experiencing issues with the circuit overloading because I couldn't get the Woodshop to return to fix. In the end we did get reimbursed from the Woodshop, Other issues: -There was a lack of communication from the Woodshop with us and its employees on important issues such as scheduling, project delays, and problem resolution. -The design for the kitchen contained a flaw in the spacing of the cabinets that would not allow for the dishwasher door to open fully. It would open about two-thirds of the way and then come to rest on the side of the pantry cabinet. I was told it was because the unusual size of the dishwasher door. This was corrected by cutting back the pantry so now the door opens, but that caused other issues because the counter top installation was meant to be flush with the Pantry…and I cannot open the pantry when the dishwasher is open which may not seem like a big deal but is incredibly irritating s I expected my new kitchen to function better than the old. -The cut outs for the built in dishwasher and refrigerator are extremely tight. So tight that dishwasher hose was causing the dishwasher to be installed at an angle and the appliance installer had to replace the rubber insulation with a much thinner version so that the door would close properly. It is important to note that all appliance measurements were given to them months in advance. When I questioned the sizing of the built in I was told that the built-ins are designed to standard sizes, not to the fit of my appliances specifically. This makes me wonder why they needed the specs to the appliances that I purchased? -The finishes were rushed and sloppy. It took several return visits from the woodshop and I still had to hire another contractor to cleanup some of the sloppy work that was done. -There was an overall lack of follow up and concern from The Woodshop. -Do NOT pay the final payment until you are 100% satisfied as getting them to return after was a challenge.

The Woodshop Inc. has completed 4 remodeling projects for us, including inside and outside work. We have been very satisfied with their work. The first project was a kitchen remodel. We found them easy to work with and willing to work with us on redesigning the design. The outcome was stunning,as was the master bath remodel. Both jobs required various detailed work which was handled smoothly and professionally. The 2 outside remodeling jobs were completed skillfully with excellent results. . We have found Jason from the Woodshop to be flexible and willing to change and or re do any areas of concern. We recommend them ,

I have worked with the Woodshop on 6 different projects. 5 of them Commercial in nature from insurance repair work to full commercial remodels (interior and exterior) of 3 of our stores. The Woodshop stays on the project timeline and within budget. They are the best contractor that I had the pleasure to work with in my business. Additionally, they have remodeled sections of my home with this same great service and workmanship. We are beginning our next project with them this spring. Thank you, The Woodshop, for making stressful situations SO MUCH EASIER to deal with!

We hired the Woodshope to redo the front and back of a store front. They did excellent work on both with follow up on any problems that occurred. They also helped with filing papers for reimbursement from the city. I have also used them at my home for remodeling jobs.

Very professional and very helpful. Great quality and competitive pricing. Everything you would hope for in a contractor. We are hiring again for our next remodel already.

The Woodshop Inc. built our fabulous new home from the ground up! From start to finish, the Woodshop team was very professional and detail-oriented . The designers took time to help us with tedious decisions regarding finishes. Our project manager, Jason, was very accessible to answering any questions we had along the way. The project was completed in a very timely manner as the various crews worked hard to stay on schedule. I decided that I wanted to build an outdoor living room to my existing home. I contacted 3 contractors and based on professionalism chose The Woodshop. Because this was a non-traditional project concept, they worked closely with an architect, the town, and myself to make sure that this project fulfilled my expectations. Jason was great about answering my calls and the people on-site were always professional. The project turned out beautifully! I love it and will certainly use The Woodshop for my next project.

We have used The Woodshop for two major remodeling projects to our vintage 1928 stone bungalow, and we are extremely satisfied with both. The first was converting an attached garage to a master suite. The second was remodeling the kitchen from top to bottom. Our most important requirement was that both remodels appear to be original to the house. The craftsmanship and attention to detail of their skilled workmen resulted in creating both the kitchen and master suite of my dreams. Jason Mitchell stayed personally involved throughout both projects, and when minor bumps in the road cropped up, he made sure that any issues were resolved to our satisfaction. We highly recommend The Woodshop, and are already planning our next project.

When we purchased our new home, it was in need of major updating. The Woodshop was one of the three firms that we started to get bids from. at the end, The Woodshop won, not only on price, but professionalism and quality of the employees. our work included a newly designed kitchen, new hardwood flooring, new lighting, added windows, stone work and more. after we finished and moved in (on time and on budget) we have had them back for two additional phases. one a completely new bath in the basement and second a master bath remodel. Jason has been great to work with, always there to answer questions and provide valuable advice on getting the best finish for the long run. Choosing the Woodshop was the best thing we could have done. Modern perspectives, Helpful staff, right pricing. you cannot go wrong.
