The Gracious Living Centre Kitchen & Bath Toronto

We first commissioned Xandra Kendall, at The Gracious Living Centre, to design our ultra-modern kitchen and bathroom some years ago in our newly built Annex home. Xandra did a great job then so it made sense to hire her again when we moved to Foresthill last year. The house has a beautiful chateau feel but the kitchen and bathroom was humdrum as it gets. What both of the rooms really needed was that certain, well how would the French say it, “je ne sais quoi” to add to the classic character of the architecture the house. Xandra and her team, at the Gracious Living Centre, understood exactly what we wanted. The results were Fantastic. Not only is each room elegant and beatify, they are functional. The dark wood cabinets were replaced with lighter transitional framed doors that will stand the test of time. A large square centre Island was installed allowing for additional seating and storage and also comes in handy when preparing meals. The Italian geometric backsplash, marble style floor and Swarovski crystal knobs on the glass display cabinet all works beautifully well together to create a bright space which is elegant and inviting. The fundamental concepts of elegance and simplicity was carried through to designing the main washroom. The shimmering mosaic tiles coupled with a silver trim wraps around the windows to give the illusion of a frame within a frame. A large mirror placed in between both windows conceal their separateness and unifies the space above the vanity. The rich walnut color of the vanity contrasts beautifully with the antique white cabinets and drawers. So yes, while Xandra was able to do all that a kitchen and bath specialist does and with the utmost professionalism, the real joy of the experience came from the high quality of service that she provided. Xandra personally visited the site, often bring samples and checking on work; listened to our concerns and wishes, which includes getting my husband’s, something of a small miracle; and, at the end of the day, designed beautiful spaces which exceeded our expectations.
