This company gave me the impression of be a good company, so I contracted them to do our railings on the front, side, back and third floor on the exterior of my house. Since my house is located on the water, I paid for an upgrade on the powder coating of the railings, along with stainless steel cables. I was told that this would extend the life of the railings. Within the first year of the final installation, my husband and I saw bubbling in several areas and rust at the ends of the stainless-steel cables. I contacted David Cohen, the owner of Superior Spiral stairs, and he sent the company that did the powder coating out to look at the railing. There were several more areas that the powder coated company pointed out that showed corrosion and rust, because there were no gaskets originally installed at the ends of the cables, where it meets the vertical posts. Mr. Cohen said that they would come out and re -powder coat the railings. After several weeks, the railings were re-installed. This time there were gaskets at the, ends of the cables and installation fasteners, but the rusted cables were re-installed. Within a year of the second installation, the bubbling in the finish was back. I contacted Mr. Cohen again and he said that they would not do anything to correct the problem, stating the reason was that the railing wasn’t maintained, stating that we should be cleaning the railings weekly. We reminded Mr. Cohen that we had another spiral staircase installed in 2018 from another company and that was also powder coated, and there isn’t any deterioration to that railing what-so-ever. If you plan on using this company, DO NOT use them for exterior railings or pay for an upgrade in powder coating. We believe that the railings were not cleaned properly before applying the powder coating. Unfortunately, we paid over 28K for these railings and although they looked good when first installed, look like railings that have been installed for 15 years now. Save your money and go with another railing company.

I had Superior Spiral Stairs work on several projects, including a fence/gate, pair of corbels, and three trellises designed to match an existing railing. All of the projects came out perfectly. Excellent work. I highly recommend David and his team.
