Sun Structures did a stellar job of transforming my vision of a triple-decker “Covid-safe” porch into a stunning reality! Thomas provided excellent ideas and detailed cost estimates in the planning stage, and he recommended a marvelous architect who also made invaluable suggestions. During construction, John, Chris, Tim, and Dan were always professional and considerate, and whenever challenges arose, they persevered until they got things right. Their careful craftsmanship is especially apparent in the tight screened porch, the flooring and fire pit on the roof deck, and the sturdy spiral staircase. They always left the work site in great shape at the end of the day. The subcontractors --- especially the electricians and plumbers --- also did first-rate work. “My wife and waited 9 years after building our home before moving forward with our plan of adding a second-floor screened-in porch and a screened-in area outside of our walkout basement. Thomas and his team were wonderful to work with. He was professional, personable, upfront about costs and answered all of our questions. We hired Sunstructures to build a screened porch off of our living room. His colleagues Chris and Tim were friendly and considerate throughout the project. They had to build a doorway through the wall of our house so needed access to our living room, but were very clean and aside from the construction noise and temporary wall there was no disturbance to our day to day. They were efficient, tidy and did a beautiful job. Thomas managed all contractors (electrician, painters, masons etc) while keeping us informed of who would be arriving and when. We wanted heaters installed on the porch to extend the season and Thomas researched and identified which would be the best for our porch and had his team install them as well. Thomas made sure we were satisfied with every last detail of the project. We highly recommend Thomas and his team and would definitely work with him again.

I can't recommend Sun Structures highly enough! We recently had an addition put on our house while living in it and they made a potentially stressful experience easy and even enjoyable. Chris, Tim and John are a pleasure to have around. They were professional and went above and beyond their job description often fixing things that had nothing to do with the addition. They were reliable, steady and their work was of the highest quality. I had complete confidence in their work which gave me great peace of mind. They were considerate of my family and me and consulted me often on aesthetic decisions always making sure that I was happy with what they were doing. And I was! We love the results of the addition which is due to a large extent their high quality of craftsmanship and their taking my preferences into consideration. Thomas is a master of organization and made the entire process feel seamless. He coordinated subcontractors (all of which were also of high quality) in such a way that there was always someone working on the job. He took my preferences seriously, again making sure that I was happy and came up with creative solutions to challenges as they came up during the project. He was easy to work with, always available, professional and took his job seriously. He oversaw his subcontractors and make sure that the job was done well and he stayed within the budget! I feel incredibly lucky to have found Sun Structures. Chris, Tim, John and Thomas are all people of quality and integrity and heart and want to do the best job that they can and make their clients as happy as they can. They are a pleasure to be with and fun to have around! I will always use them for any project we have in the future!

Thomas and crew were very easy to work with and I would highly recommend Sun Structures for any home improvement undertaking. Thomas was transparent with all aspects of the job from the initial talks to the last billing and receipts. All subs that worked on the job were professional and did an outstanding job. We had a great experience with Sun Structures, have recommended them to others and wouldn't hesitate to use them for another renovation in the future. Professional, friendly, polite, honest, neat (they vacuumed the work area every day before they left), creative can-do attitude, flexible, timely, fair, frequent communications, quality work, would get back to us right away... Their subcontractors were good and easy to have in the house, too. Our last renovation experience was nothing like this one... [Scope of work: We gutted and expanded a master bathroom, converted a butler's pantry (old galley kitchen that had been left much as is after kitchen addition) into a desk/library area and powder room, and opened up a stairwell wall at the bottom of the steps to our finished basement.]

We can't say enough good things about working with Thomas and his group at Sun Structures. They replaced our old existing deck with a new screened porch and deck at the rear of our house. Below the deck, they installed a concrete patio and storage area. The work also necessitated moving the septic tank and landscaping. It was all completed within the projected timeframe and budget. Everything they did was top quality and emerged looking absolutely beautiful. We couldn't be more pleased and would recommend them without reservation.

Excellent communication from throughout the entire project, which I think speaks volumes about their professionalism. Was pleased with the flow of the project and organization of it all. Would definitely recommend 100% and will contact them again with our future plans!

As an architect, I would choose Sun Structures to build any project I design. Their construction, including the details, is of the highest quality. They communicate honestly and directly with both myself and the clients in terms of budget and make helpful recommended on the scope of work during the feasibility stage of design. This is a family run company that works productively and is well organized. I recommend them highly.

After interviewing several companies on the phone and in-person we chose Sun Structures to add a family room, mudroom, and front porch to a small house we had just purchased. Thomas Donne sold us on his attention to detail and practical recognition of our budgetary concerns. The balance Sun Structures ultimately achieves is even more wonderful than we understood at the outset. The company houses decades (if not centuries) of collective local construction experience, the Foreman approached every detail of the project (start to finish) like it was his own home, every person who came onto our property was courteous and professional, they used modern online project tracking tools and consistently provided nearly instantaneous answers to questions in-person or through calls and texts, and they clearly have amassed a vast network of excellent and reliable subcontractors. But, all those niceties aside, they completed the project ahead of schedule and within the budget. We could not have asked for more. We love our new space, it looks and feels incredible, and we look forward to working with Sun Structures again in the future!

Our home project entailed a blending of old and new, involving the restoration and reconstruction of an authentic 19th century log cabin with a traditional stick built addition. Sun Structures embraced the unique challenges required and created a seamless combination of the two differing elements with the highest degree of craftsmanship. We could not be more pleased with the finished product that we are proud to call our home.
