Focused primarily on residential construction and renovation, studio PPARK creates a fresh modern aesthetic responsive to client needs. We are driven to make modern design functional and comfortable. Studio PPARK seeks out the best in all design challenges, and with a creative tool set will tailor a unique solution to our clients’ needs. Our goal is to craft a compelling concept, which will meet a specific vision, budget and time. We understand that organization and communication are all essential to a truly great design project. Our sensibility to shape, balance and order are always prevalent no matter the environment. Anastasia Amelchakova and James Krapp are partners and leaders behind studio PPARK. With 20+ years combined experience in New York City and along the East coast this husband/wife team has garnered great experience with well-regarded commercial and residential design firms A+I and workshop/apd. It is with great pleasure that I have the opportunity to highly recommend studio PPark Architects to Houzz readers. After initially being partnered via a client on their Tribeca property, we enjoyed our collaboration so much that we have each recommended one another to our respective new clients on multiple jobs moving forward. Principles Anastasia Amelchakova and James Krapp are consummate professionals with excellent taste and vision. They have a sincere and clear understanding of a client’s needs, budget, expectations and provide appropriate solutions to manage each project. It’s really “a gift” to work with them. For a prospective client considering hiring an architecture firm focused on residential construction and/or renovation — studioPPark should be actively considered in any decision making process.

studio PPark is excellent to work with. Our project was designed by James, one of the principals. He was infinitely patient with us, spending as much time with us as was necessary to think through all of the design elements of our renovation. We also liked working with him because he understood the balance we were trying to achieve between the concepts of "high end design" and the practicality of daily living, settling on design elements and materials that achieve both. Our project was unique in that it was a NYC apartment combination that required marrying the new with elements of the existing. James's design did this wonderfully. We are extremely happy with the end results and would highly recommend.

We hired James and Anastasia for a large gut renovation and we would highly recommend them (I’ve already referred them to a few people who saw and loved our apartment). I had interviewed several architects and am very glad we selected them. They are great designers who are extremely knowledgeable and patient. We live in a pre war coop and they came up with many creative solutions to challenges we faced with the building. They helped me with design questions and were extremely patient and willing to come up with alternative ideas. We also had several challenges with our contractor and Anastasia was great at holding them to a high standard and I’m extremely grateful that they stood by us throughout the long process. James and Anastasia are a great team and I would highly recommend them!

Our home renovations started on a reasonable scale but grew exponentially as problems were unearthed. The year+ long process took place while we were still living and working out of state. James was immensely helpful in overseeing the project and partnered beautifully with our contractor (whom James had brought to the project). James offered different solutions to different issues at various price points. He oversaw all the code and permitting work and represented us at many meetings. We are very happy with our home. Although it is over 50 years old, it feels and functions like a brand new home. We were so thankful for his expertise and advice. We would highly recommend studio PPark to others.

From Day 1 James listened to all of our ideas and somehow seemed to find a way to incorporate all of them. He worked around our asks and delivered a really great house by combining his design expertise and his extraordinary patience. I worked with James on a feasibility analysis to determine floor plan options, schedule and costs associated with combing two apartments. I have completed several renovations throughout the US, including two recent projects in Los Angeles. I understand how critical it is to have an architect with both design talent and fiscal discipline on the team. James is a true professional. He is communicative, creative and extremely accurate on both project scheduling and project costs. I plan to work with James again future redevelopment projects and recommend his firm to both homeowners building new or renovating existing as well as professional real estate developers.

We purchased two apartments in NYC and proceeding to knock them together as a complete gut renovation. We interviewed several architects and Anastasia was the best prepared and came up with innovative ideas we had not considered. Anastasia produces amazingly detailed drawings, making it very easy for contractors to follow. She also comes up with very interesting choices for everything such as light fixtures, cabinets, furniture, colors, bathroom fixtures etc making much easier for the client to choose what they want. We loved the end product and would highly recommend Anastasia to anyone wanting to renovate a New York apartment.

I have worked with James on several project here on Nantucket. James is clear on direction and has a great eye for color ans style. I have plastered a fireplace for him that looked like cement and have done venetian plaster in another home. His style is current and his ideas progressive. He is a great designer. Look forward to our next project together.
