We used Stone Age Design to remodel the kitchen in our 1980's error condo. They did the entire demolition, tile work, electrical, plumbing, dry wall, lights, appliance installation and finishing and they were fantastic. The quality of the build is really top notch, and the level of detail was exacting. I can't imagine doing another renovation without Lou and his crew. I should also mention how professional they were. The crew was polite, helpful, kind, and understanding of any concerns or requests; we really loved them. Lou does things by the book, and won't cut corners, so don't be surprised if the occasional extra item shows up, particularly if you have an older home. But if you're looking for high quality and gorgeous work, look no further than Stone Age Design. We give them our highest recommendation.

Lou and his team are excellent. Lou performs at the highest level and expects this from every member of his team. He works tirelessly to get the job done well and on time. Stone Age Design & Build, Inc. did a fantastic job renovating my hallway bathroom which was last updated in the 1960’s. Due to the necessity of resolving the number of “hidden surprises” found when undergoing demolition, the job took longer than was originally anticipated, but the wait was well worth it – I am extremely happy with my all-new bathroom. Lou and his entire crew are professional, trustworthy, very skillful, and dedicated to completing a job that reflects perfection of their client’s design ideas.

I hired Stone Age Design for a full kitchen remodel. They did a superb job, and I am thrilled with the result. They were always on time, professional and performed the work exactly as intended by the interior designer. Also, there were no surprises when it came what was originally quoted. After interviewing 12 contractors and getting bids/estimates from 7 of them, my husband & I enthusiastically selected Stone Age Design and Build for our Master Bath remodel, which included transforming a sunken bathtub into a large no-barrier shower with bench & linear drain, digging through the cement slab to replace plumbing, replacing the separate existing shower with cabinetry for linen storage, as well as all the other plumbing, electrical, tile, cabinetry & miscellaneous items which are part of a total gut job. While Lou had a longer lead time than the other firms, what impressed us and tipped the scale in favor of Stone Age was the fact that Lou made several observations and suggestions during our initial meeting that none of the other contractors offered. Additionally, while his estimate was the 2nd highest, it appeared more comprehensive than most of the other quotes. - One contractor had neglected to provide for framing, insulation and exterior stucco on removing an 8' by 6' window and replacing it with a wall containing an 18" x 48" window. Another didn't include cost of environmental studies required by the city, a dumpster or port-a-potty. Those contractors' omissions made us wonder what else wasn't included and also question their attention to detail. One concern we had was having "strangers" in the house. This was totally a non-issue. All of the Stone Age workers were polite and professional and inspired confidence in their work as well as in them personally. Stone Age had no casual day laborers, as the entire team were long term employees; some being with Stone Age for more than 10 years. They arrived on time each day, worked very hard all day, were easy to communicate with, treated our property with respect and thoroughly cleaned up each day before leaving. They said goodbye when they left and if we weren't around when they left, Lou would text us saying something like, "the guys just left; they'll be back at 8am tomorrow" and send a photo of what was accomplished that day. Each worker was exceptionally skilled in his own craft with a high level of attention to the smallest detail. It was quite apparent that each took pride in his work. The level of communication throughout the entire process was impressive. Lou let us know what to expect and was always readily available if we had questions. Phone calls, texts and emails were all responded to efficiently. Stone Age's team, the process, the quality of the work and the end result all exceeded our expectations. We would certainly use them again and wholeheartedly endorse them.

Stone Age Design is an amazing company. From its various different specialties that have expertise in any aspect of construction, to Lou Phillip the contractor that is not only well versed but also incredible helpful during the whole process. I have used Stone Age Design & Build, Inc. since 2018 on my jobs and remodels. I will continue use them, due to there continued professionalism and amazing work.

We have done a small bathroom with Stone Age. Lou and his team continue to be the best! We had them renovate our kitchen several years ago and now this bathroom was exactly the way we wanted. I love that they offer cost cutting options where possible (ex. suggested a place to buy tile that was much cheaper). Their attention to detail is just amazing. We highly recommend them!

Lou has done many projects for me: Laundry room, multiple bathrooms, raising a sunken living room floor, cabinetry and staircase. I can not speak highly enough of him as a contractor and a person! He puts his whole self into each projects and cares about quality, costs and the final outcome. Also, if you have an emergency (say a sudden rain storm and roof leak) if you need him he will do his best to get someone out to you as quickly as possible. We will be working together again soon and it's always a pleasure having him and his team in my home.
