We retained Steve to help us design and draw up plans for a master suite addition to our single level, mid-century Alexander home built in 1958 in Palm Springs. The project was challenging and complex because we decided to demo the existing 120sf guest bedroom to make room for the 420sf addition. Also, the roofline of the existing house slopes up from front to back and we wanted the roofline of the addition to slope up towards the street in order to create a "butterfly" roofline as seen from the side of the house. Our new master suite includes a large bedroom with multiple picture windows with stunning mountain views, a large walk in closet, a spa-like bathroom with walk-in shower and private toilet and terrazzo floors throughout . We could not be more thrilled with how it turned out and we highly recommend Steve!

I have known Steve for many years, and have seen his work for other clients. So when I needed to perform a remodel on my master bathroom, he was my first choice. My spousal unit was not good at communicating what he wanted in the remodel, but Steve was very patient with us, and listened closely to our vague requirements and lack of clear design direction. He presented us a variety of designs to choose from that really made the process easier, and rendered then in 3D so that we could get a good idea of the final product. He was always super-responsive, getting back to us quickly when we had questions and concerns. He also stepped in when we had trouble with our general contractor, helping to resolve problems that came up during construction. The final product is a real showpiece, with a beautiful arrangement of tile and glass.

Steven is the consummate creative professional. He has all the knowledge and skill of a talented designer along with the professionalism that you need to get a job done on time and on budget. Finally he wants to design the house you want, not anything else, but is not shy to tell you his opinion. You couldn't ask for more in an architect.

Steven designed an addition for our house and we could not be happier! He is a breeze to work with; he really listens and understands the project's needs and is prompt to respond to questions even outside of business hours. He has excellent design instincts and did a great job combining them with our tastes and needs. He saw the project through permitting and construction without a hitch; he was quick to respond and handle any contingencies which came up. The project turned out beautifully, we love his design and it's even better in person than on paper. We were very lucky to find Steven.

Steve was great to work with. He listened well to our input and was always willing to make adjustments, but also gave us good advice to guide our thinking.

We've been working with Steve for over a year on plans for an addition for our house. The slowness is because of us! Anyway Steve has designed what will be a wonderful addition to include a master bath, laundry room, closet and small den. We live in a historic district so our plans had to be approved by a cultural heritage board. We made it through this without too much drama and received many compliments on the plans. We are hoping to start construction soon and look forward to continued working with Steve. Last, Steve has patiently taught me much about houses and architectural elements and has even helped with advice on other projects!

I have different perspective from his clients because I was not his client. I happen to have lived in the house he designed. We were the second owner of the house and the minute we walked into the house during an open house, we fell in love and bought it. So I know his design work by actually living in it. The house style was Modern Mediterranean with today's amenities. The details such as arched opening, iron work, rounded wall corners, wood doors and floor inlay were abundant. And the convenience and luxury of a connecting garage, gourmet kitchen appliances, a 4-fixture master bath with a jet tub facing South, French doors opening to decks with a secluded canyon view, plenty of storage spaces throughout the house made the house so easy to live and enjoy. The floor plan made sense with a natural flow and adjacency of room functions. The great room with a 2-story ceiling height was always the center of our family gathering and entertainment. We had so many kids' birthday parties, sleepovers, movie nights and lots of laughter. The house he designed offered us a home with natural light, airy and spacious feel and I was grateful to the builder and architect for the sense of family unity and enjoyment we experienced.

Last December (2012) I asked my next door neighbor who she used as an architect for her remodel. We were so very fortunate to have been given Steven number. From the first time we spoke I just knew we were working with a very knowledgeable and professional Architect. Steven always called when he said he would and was always on time. Steven sent us 3D plans and was open to any changes and revisions. Steven researched what was needed to get our plan drawn without any surprises the City might have given us. Steven has worked extremely well with our contractor and was also very helpful in referring us to KB Cabinets. I would recommend Steven Corley Randel to anyone who is looking for a great Architect.

Steve Randel has done several projects for my company. He is very precise and creative in his design. I appreciate how quickly he turns out drawings and plans for me so I can obtain approval of the client and move forward with the project without delay.

We hired Mr. Randel to design the remodel our 30 year old condo unit, upgrading the look, installing central air, replacing windows and doors, new kitchen, new floors, new bathrooms. His plan greatly increased the usability of our space, giving us much more functionality with a sleek, livable easy care unit that has received many compliments from guests and provides us with a comfortable home.

I engaged Steve in the summer of 2007 to draw up plans to completely re-built my living room/dining room. Design element included sloped ceilings, complete window replacement, new windows, new gas fireplace. The design was thoughtful and innovative. Steve listened to my ideas and enhanced them with his own resulting in a successful, synergistic plan. I hired Steve in 2003 to design a two story addition to my home. The plans included a landscaping, a new approach to my driveway and front door. The result is very handsome. Both project exceeded my expectations. And on both projects, Steve stepped in during construction to correct mistakes made by the builder and resolved issues with inspectors (in my favor). I would hire Steve again without question.
