I have worked with Stroub twice. Once to do my kitchen, living room, dining room, deck, outside stairway and powder room and several years later to do three bedrooms, two bathrooms and a hallway. They were professional, had an on-site person to supervise the sub-contractors, and totally trustworthy. They aren't the cheapest in town but they are the best and I would hire them again.

I am a interior designer and work on high-end residential properties. I have worked on a number of projects with Stroub Construction and continue to work with them because of their consummate professionalism. The project managers are smart, extremely organized, conscientious and very detail oriented. The carpenters, support staff and sub-contractors are all top notch. They are great communicators. I can rely on them to always having good judgement. If there is ever an issue, it is solved immediately. I cannot say enough positive things about working with Stroub Construction.

We have been working with Stroub Construction on a major renovation of out West Marin cottage, as well as a kitchen remodel in San Francisco. They have been unfailingly responsive, on time, etc. Their subcontractors have been unfailingly top flight. The were incredibly thorough and detail oriented, were instrumental in making changes in cooperation with our architect. They were realistic about cost Couldn't give a higher recommendation

This is the 2nd time I hired Stroub Construction because the first time I used them, I loved their work. I hired Stroub for the 2nd time to renovate a Victorian home (circa 1875) in San Francisco. The scope of the work included installing an elevator to service 3 stories, installation of a new bathroom, removal of an old, brick stove flue, minor changes to 2 baths and the kitchen, installation of a wine cellar in the garage, etc... Steve Stroub was an excellent resource regarding Victorian finishes which resulted in bringing back the "old world" charm into the house by installing pocket doors between the living room and dining room and improving the molding, casings, etc...throughout the home.. The final product is better than I dreamed it would be and I am very happy with the quality of the work. The project was originally estimated to take 3-4 months but actually took 5 months to complete. The primary reason for the extra month was due to design changes and additions to the scope that were initiate by me.

My decorator recommended Stroub Construction to handle the "refreshment" of my home. From the initial meeting with the Project Manager Paul I was "sold" on the professionalism and expertise of the firm. I went away on summer vacation for 3 weeks and came back to a transformed home. The attention to detail is amazing; the level of skills excellent; the timeliness of the project was spot on. I had two small "issues" that were communicated via phone with photos and each was of a minor nature -- they just wanted to let me know that there was a slight change to the scope of the work. Highly professional, reasonably priced, excellent communication, and just nice folks.

We hired Stroub to complete an addition to our home we started and I could not finish. I am a commercial builder and we very nervous about letting go of control and making sure the details were done the way I would have done it myself. But a job change was not going to allow me to finish the project in a reasonable timeline and stay married. I had drawn the plans, vague enough to give me flexibility to design as we went but enough to get a building permit. Difficult for a builder to price and hard to estimate a finish date, when we still had not made many decisions. The process was made very easy by Stroub's team in the office and the field. Steve's foreman, January, would meet me early in the morning and we would go over the details or a little mock up he had made to make sure we were on the same page. Mike, Stoub's project manager, made several important suggestions regarding material procurement that kept the project moving without compromise the quality. We went over our budget, but only because we added considerable scope. We are one happy customer!

We have worked for Stroub Construction for the past 15 yrs as their Electrical Contractor. "Team" Stroub is very professional in their approach to construction and to satisfying the needs of their clients. As a subcontractor and part of this team, we are proud to contribute to Steve's dedication to quality craftsmanship. If you are looking for a General Contractor for your special project, this should be your first stop.

in early December, we lost a fence along our property line to old age, decay and harsh weather. Stroub replaced it in three weeks, beautifully matching the residual section of the old fence. They were great to work with, kept su fully informed of progress, provided a beautiful new fence, despite challenging terrain, worked around stormy weather, were constantly pleasant and professional, cleaned the site thoroughly and came in on schedule and three oercent under budget. A Christmas miracle for which we are enormously grateful.

I have been working with Steve Stroub for over 25 years on multiple projects from small remodels to major renovations and new buildings. I have found Steve and his company to be highly professional, with the utmost integrity and attention to detail, budgets and timelines. We have used Stroub Construction for remodeling our home over the past 27 years. We recently remodeled a bathroom. It was completed on time and came in as budgeted. We have found their team to be honest, reliable, knowledgeable, and professional.

We have only good things to write about our experience with Stroub Construction. We interviewed 4 GCs and selected Stroub based on their 25+ years in the construction business and their reputation of being honest guys who get the job done. Our project included a complete interior remodel and an extension to the basement level of the house. There were extensive structural improvements such as adding structural steel to the back of the house, excavating underneath our house and pouring a new foundation. The plumbing, electrical and heating systems were also replaced. From start to finish, we felt we got great advice from Steve and his team giving us confidence that we were achieving maximum value for the money we spent. We are thrilled with the end results and love how the house looks and functions. Ultimately the costs exceeded the original budget, as they always do with construction projects, but Stroub did a very good job of explaining and justifying the contributing factors. We were also pleased with the subcontractors Stroub hired for our project. Stroub held the subs to high standards. In addition, when something wasn't done to our satisfaction, Stroub worked hard to make it right. Steve and his team also worked well with our architect. The communication and synergy between Stroub Construction, our architect and us (the clients) worked well - we even had a few laughs along the way. Our remodel was completed roughly on schedule despite approval delays from the city. Towards the final stages, Stroub kept things moving forward so that we could spend the holidays in our beautiful new "old" home. While we don't intend to take on any more construction projects in the near future, if we do, we would definitely hire Stroub Construction again.
